Dustin Martin wins Norm Smith Medal at the 2019 AFL grand final

By The Roar / Editor

Dustin Martin won his second Norm Smith Medal at the 2019 AFL grand final.

Martin had 22 disposals and, crucially, four goals in a superb effort for the Tigers. He kicked his side’s first goal of the game late in the first quarter after they fell behind early, kickstarting an avalanche of 12 consecutive Richmond goals that won them the game well before three-quarter time.

He becomes just the fourth man in AFL history to win multiple Norm Smith medals after Gary Ayres, Andrew McLeod and Luke Hodge.

Martin was the unanimous pick for best-on-ground among the five Norm Smith judges, receiving the maximum three votes from Alastair Lynch, Chris Johnson, Matthew Lloyd, Bruce McAveney and Angela Phipps.

Bachar Houli (six votes), Marlion Pickett (four), Jack Riewoldt (three) and Dion Prestia (two) were the others to be nominated.

suffice it to say Hardwick has Richmond playing a teamier game that lets Dusty be Dusty? but I think people forget how smart a footballer he is. and he looked to be running on top of the track late in the season. deceptively quick so gets into space. then makes great decisions,

Deserving winner. Every possession had an impact. Martin takes it to another level in September. Dangerfield could learn a lot from Dusty.
