Sydney racing selections: Randwick tips for Saturday, June 12

By Dixie / Roar Guru

June started well for us with a nice little profit last week. We head to Randwick this Saturday to be greeted by a wet winter track and some nice big fields.

The meeting also sees some prominent rides for our crop of apprentice jockeys, and I’m very interested!

Dixie’s 2021 tally
Outlay: 238 units
Return: 356.50 units
Stats are based on one unit being equal to a $1 win bet, New South Wales dividends. See the comments for any changes based on scratchings or track condition.

Sydney racing selections

Race 3 – 6 De Grawin (one unit)
De Grawin is one of my faves. She failed first up after copping a squeeze, but loves the short course and the wet surface.

Race 4 – Brazen Gem (one unit)
Gravina looks sharp but is far too short. I’ll take Brazen Gem, who has a great fresh record and has won past 1200 metres and likes the give in the track too.

Race 5 – 6 Ruby Tuesday (one unit)
I am keen on Ruby Tuesday in a pretty even race. Louise Day claims a nice weight advantage on a leader, that’s her go, and the horse is in well. Buba at big odds was a show with good heavy track form. Margie Bee is next best.

Race 6 – 7 Kirwan’s Lane (two units)
Kirwan’s Lane was excellent winning last time, the track condition suits, the mile is ideal, and this horse is very hard to beat. I rated Opacity next and give Gone Bye an outside chance.

Race 7 – 14 Ballistic Lover (two units)
Ballistic Lover would be bet of the year if it wasn’t for the terrible barrier, maybe with a choppy track that won’t be bad and she can get the best of things. She’s flying. I had Surreal Step next best and Fituese a threat after flunking first up.

Race 8 – Dream Circle (three units)
Unlike the last race, my hope here has drawn perfectly and I’m very keen on Dream Circle. His two recent wins have been very good and he rates highly. Oakfield Mission and Mirra Vision are next in line.

Race 9 – 11 Epic Dan (one unit)
I’ll speculate to finish and take Epic Dan. He runs in all conditions and is the right price. Canasta is the other big hope.

Good luck all, enjoy the great card and the huge Brisbane meeting as well.

Yeah think Vega One should go close. Every chance for Kirwan, just didn’t finish off

More keen Sydney, the track at Eagle Farm worries me. Knights Order was a good thing. I have Vega One and Signore Fox on top in the Straddy.

Gone down some similar paths. I like kirwans lane. Looking forward to the straddy, I reckon Vega will be hard to beat there.

Got quite a few similar Dixie I like it! I’m not with Kirwan’s but very wary of him. You got any thoughts in Qld today as well or just sticking to Sydney?
