Sydney racing selections: Rosehill tips for Saturday, March 12

By Dixie / Roar Guru

Just as we’d forgotten what it felt like, the sun’s poked out the last couple of days and we hit Rosehill this Saturday on a potentially drying track as Slipper preps begin.

Looks a good day, the Waller star fillies and a battler from Goulburn that beat Nature Strip home last week are probably talking points. For the record, I’m risking Shelby Sixtysix on the quick back-up but if she can reproduce last week’s huge PB, she could win by 66. What a game!

Best bet: Race 4 – 1 Ellsberg (three units @ $1.90)
Ellsberg looks pretty bulletproof against this lot, he should get an easy enough lead and as he showed last start, the conditions shouldn’t pose an issue. 1500 metres also a nice move second-up.

Best value: Race 9 – 7 Katalin (two units @ $6.50)
Not massive odds but think Katalin is overs against this field.

She’s unbeaten fresh and probably settles leaders back or just behind and should be fit and ready at 1350 metres. She was three lengths off Expat on a Rosehill bog last Winter giving her weight, that reads well for this.

Sydney racing selections
Race 1 – 10 Rumpshaker (one unit @ $16)
Race 2 – 2 She’s Extreme (two units @ $2.80)
Race 3 – 2 Rise of the Masses (one unit @ $6)
Race 4 – 1 Ellsberg (three units @ $1.90)
Race 5 – 10 Gravina (one unit @ $3.50)
Race 6 – 9 Never Been Kissed (one unit @ $9)
Race 7 – 1 Great House (one unit @ $5.50)
Race 8 – 2 Polly Grey (one unit @ $21)
Race 9 – Katalin (two units @ $6.50)
Race 10 – 12 Zoumon (one unit @ $3.70)

Tim Clark give me strength! Enjoy the great day here and at HQ down south (looking around at Roch’N’Horse @ $61 in the Newmarket), enjoy the sunshine and go well.

It is a joke, especially when they win.

Good q. I use multiple to ensure I get best price, but generally think TopSport is a good service offering best of top fluc or best tote on major metros.

Who do you bet with Dixie, i think i willl go back to ladbrokes and use the boost odds rather than bonus bets. Let's face it, when you win it is when you actually back winners, so why not boost odds

sportsbet has beaten me over the years, but it is never enough for the vultures. I do get a lot of bonus bets, which mostly turn into profits when i rebet them

reminds me of time i tipped a 66-1 winner of newmarket many years ago, all my mates laughed until they ran second to the roughie. Heron Bridge it was and i had a huge $20 on it. I actually thought the NZ form was good this year.

Newmarket looks a pearler. Home Affairs could go from star to superstar if he bolts in, like Shelby, his best is good enough but can he produce against older horses? I've backed Roch 'N' Horse at 100/1 down in weight, the two NZ horses ran a sub 1.07 together, even if it's on the downhill at Trentham!
