With Round 1 in the books, we look toward the remainder of the draft. Join The Roar for live updates and a blog of the event starting at 7pm (AEDT).
Unsurprisingly, childhood friends, Matt Rowell and Noah Anderson, went as the first two picks to the Gold Coast Suns.
Carlton moved plenty with two consecutive bids placed on their selections, eventually mounting a trade with Gold Coast to move them from 11 to 17.
The Suns used their third selection to take Sam Flanders at 11.
Despite giving up picks 17 and 22 to Carlton in the trade, the Suns saw top ten value in Flanders which they were shocked to see overlooked by other clubs.
After a few more talks, Carlton secured a trade with Port Adelaide.
The Blues moved to two first-round selections, allowing them to take Brodie Kemp (17) and Sam Philp (20).
In the second round, Adelaide (22, 3, 37), North Melbourne (26, 27, 30) and Essendon (31, 33) will benefit most, while Richmond (38-39-41) boast prime real estate between rounds two and three.
Essendon will be keen on forward potential to develop alongside last years pick Noah Gown, while North need to look into filling the Scott Thompson void down back.
Adelaide have a lot of gaps worth filling after losing a few players in the offseason, while Richmond sit much the opposite with potentially the league’s most complete list.
Collingwood (35), West Coast (46) and St Kilda (51) will wait a good while before receiving their first pick, with the Saints and Eagles using most of their picks to profit from in the trade period.
A lot of solid talent remains on the board, including Western Australian captain Deven Robertson and defenders Josh Worrell and Trent Brianco.
Likened to Joel Selwood, Robertson would be a steal for any club after originally being pegged as a possible 10-15 prospect.
There is also a lot of talk around Port Adelaide and Brisbane using the overnight break to trade off their picks for a decent package.
The first few picks are anyone’s at this point, with tomorrow ramping up to present a few more changes before the beginning of Round 2.
Join us at 7pm (AEDT) where we will run through each club’s selection live.

It's Alright, they'll all jump ship in a few years. Hopefully Freo can get Sharp back. I'd say Rowell and Anderson go back to Vic in 4 years tops...

The 2019 AFL National Draft comes to end with Day 2 capping off at pick 65. Gold Coast continued to add quality to their line-up, mounting a couple trades to help them secure more high-tier talent. Richmond managed to pull a few Academy prospects after Brisbane failed to match two of their bids, with the Saints let a similar prospect slide late. Childhood Collingwood supporter, Trent Bianco, finds his way to the Magpies to help fulfill a lifelong dream, while Bomber's fan, Harrison Jones, gets his wish with Essendon. The Lions got their man in Deven Robertson after succesfully pulling a trade with Port Adelaide in the lead up. For the night, the Bombers were involved in a few trades to varying degrees of success, while Brisbane turned a few heads after electing to let two Academy players and a Father-Son prospect slide. That caps off the end of the 2019 AFL Draft. Keep an eye out for these players at the 2020 opener where a few of them will run out for the beginning of their AFL careers.
