The North Melbourne Kangaroos welcome the struggling St Kilda Saints to Blundstone Arena today. Join The Roar for live scores and a blog of the match, starting from 3:20pm (AEST).

Rhyce Shaw has North Melbourne humming at the moment. After what was a horrendous start to the season for North, since Brad Scott has departed, the Kangaroos look a completely different outfit.

North Melbourne have accumulated six wins from 14 matches in 2019, which still leaves them with a bit of work if they wish to play finals, but they are definitely now in the discussion.

However, it won’t take much for that type of discussion to end, as there is very little room for error.

The Kangaroos are coming off a 44-point win over the Collingwood Magpies, which highlights just how big a change there has been in North Melbourne’s attitude and style of play over the past few weeks.

Ben Cunnington had a terrific night for the Kangaroos at Marvel Stadium last weekend, as the midfielder accumulated 37 possessions. Jy Simpkin was also impressive, as the youngster found the ball 30 times.

Jack Ziebell booted three majors, which went a long way in regards to North breaking the Magpies. Luke Davies-Uniacke and Kayne Turner both kicked two majors each, also.

In team news this week for the Kangaroos, Paul Ahern comes in for the injured Kyron Hayden.

As for the Saints, the promising start they had to the 2019 season has now evaporated.

The Saints have accumulated six wins from 14 matches, which technically still puts them in the hunt for finals, but they aren’t playing well enough when it matters most.

They are coming off a 33-point loss to the Richmond Tigers, which took place at Marvel Stadium last weekend.

Seb Ross was the pick of the St Kilda midfield, as he accumulated 27 disposals for the match. Jack Billings was also good, as he finished the game with 26 possessions.

Josh Bruce was good in front of goal, as the forward booted three majors for the game. Nick Hind was also sharp, as he kicked two majors for the game.

In team news this week for the Saints, Jack Newnes replaces Dan Hannebery, who is being rested.

Prediction
With it being down in Tasmania and North Melbourne playing some decent footy at the minute, they should get a comfortable victory.

Kangaroos by 24 points.

Yes footy's always good. Doesn't mean it couldn't be better. Two thirds of the teams can't crack a dozen big ones. I suppose that's average but it's not a lot to cheer about. Good round though bless em all. Port and West coast eh? Gee I better rush out and get foxtel.
