The St Kilda Saints welcome the Hawthorn Hawks to Marvel Stadium today, as both sides are gunning for a third home-and-away win for the 2019 season. Join The Roar for live scores and a blog of the match, starting from 3:20pm (AEDT).

From the opening three rounds, both the Saints and the Hawks have claimed two wins. The Saints are coming off a valiant five-point defeat in the west against the Fremantle Dockers.

Alan Richardson’s side no doubt will be disappointed, as the prospect of winning the opening three games was very achievable.

On the positive side for the Saints, Jack Billings continued his good form against the Dockers last week, as he reeled in 32 disposals. He also chipped in with two goals. Jade Gresham and Tim Membrey also scored two majors.

In team news this week for the Saints, Ben Long comes into the side. Luke Dunstan has been omitted.

As for the Hawks, they responded brilliantly against the North Melbourne Kangaroos last week after conceding the first four goals of the game at the Melbourne Cricket Ground.

Alastair Clarkson simply got the game on his terms after the first quarter, and it was complete domination from the team in brown and gold from that point onwards, which led to a 16-point victory over the Kangaroos.

Jaeger O’Meara found plenty of the football, as he finished the game with 32 possessions. Luke Breust was exceptional, as he kicked five majors for the game and showed why he is an elite forward.

Chad Wingard had a very solid debut for the club, as he kicked three majors and showed why the Hawks have put so much faith in him.

In team news this week for the Hawks, Jarryd Roughead returns to the side. Dylan Moore has been omitted.

Prediction
The Hawks are simply a better outfit than the Saints, and with Wingard being unleashed last weekend, I would expect him to have a say at Marvel Stadium today.

Hawthorn to prevail by 26 points.

Correct. Our midfield was very inexperienced, particularly with Jack Steven out. It was actually our three most experienced defenders that were missing though, not two - Geary, Roberton and Carlisle

The St Kilda Saints have defeated the Hawthorn Hawks by five points at Marvel Stadium. Alan Richardson's side now sit 3-1, and remain undefeated at Marvel Stadium this season. It was a close game all day, and the Saints benefitted greatly from the Hawks being down to two on the bench. Ben Stratton and James Frawley missed the majority of the match due to injury. Despite that being the case, the Saints were superb. Seb Ross led the way claiming 39 disposals, and Jack Billings continued his terrific form reeling in 34 disposals. Jack Lonie was dynamic, finishing with three majors. As for the Hawks, Alastair Clarkson's side now sit 2-2. James Sicily finished with 28 touches, and Jarryd Roughead booted two goals. There won't be panic at Waverley, and they will consider themselves unlucky from an injury perspective. St Kilda: 10.14 = 74 Hawthorn: 10.9 = 69

Good win by the saints but if they couldn't beat the Hawks today with an inexperienced midfield and two of there most experienced defenders sitting out the game they never could.

It's pretty easy to get a soft free against the hawks this year. Guy falls over and gets pinned. Turn it up
