I saw the incident and I think the elbow contact was avoidable so I think he should cop a weeks suspension. If he had knocked out the opposition player then of course he would have certainly received a lot more than one week. Any striking of a player around the head region should be an automatic suspension. Head injuries are serious and have side effects such as inability to sleep and headaches to name a few. Johnathon Brown formerly of the Brisbane Football Club had to retire early due to an abundance of head knocks. I read his biography and from memory he described the side effects of head knocks. I think he received 6 hits to the head before he retired prematurely.
