Tom Hawkins loses all confidence with the boot

Geelong’s Tom Hawkins had four shots on goal and three behinds in the opening half against Port Adelaide in their qualifying final and appeared to lose confidence as a result.

After kicking two points and an out-of-bounds, Hawkins marked closed to goal and decided to play on late in the first half.

The strange decision was of course mocked by the vocal Port Adelaide crowd who also gave it to Patrick Dangerfield in an intense opening half.

It didn’t get any better for Hawkins in the second half. Hawkins finishing with 0.5 for the night with six shots on goal as Port Adelaide booked their spot in the preliminary final with a 16-point win.
