By The Roar / Editor

New Zealander Dan Hooker was praised for his toughness, but should he have been protected from himself earlier?

Agree on Lewis, therefore also about Hooker. Hooker (who I actually thought would win) is not that sort of miracle one punch winner, and was getting smashed. Totally disagree on Holloway v Ortega though. The 3rd was Ortega's best round, so coming out in the 4th makes sense. But more importantly, Ortega is known as a bloke who can pull out a sub from nowhere, particularly late in the game. His coach Rener Gracie knows this and has spoken about it in the past.

The only miracle comeback that I have witnessed this year was Derric Lewis when he knocked out that Russian bloke. But Lewis is a 280 pound monster that can take a punch, this poor kiwi bloke was coping a hiding. It should of been stop at the second round. Holloway v Otega again was a fight that went one round too many and should of been stopped in the third, although the doctor made the correct call it was one round too late

I'd love to see the corner make the stoppages more often. I know occasionally fighters pull off a miracle come back when they look totally out of it but at what cost? I guess there is just so much more money on offer as you move up the ranks. The disparity is enormous

Absolutely agree with DC, that poor Kiwi bloke was taking a savage beat down. Why does the ref have to wait until the poor fighter has been dam near killed to stop the fight? Clearly he was showing no defence and little fight back. Poor refereeing indeed
