The Adelaide Oval sees the Adelaide Strikers host a Perth Scorchers side coming off a cracking win. Join The Roar for live scores and a blog of the match from 7:10pm (AEDT).
Perth come to Adelaide with great confidence following a great contest against the Renegades two nights ago. On the back of great batting from Mitchell Marsh and Cameron Bancroft, the Scorchers posted a high total that Melbourne could not chase down despite great performances from Shaun Marsh and Beau Webster.
Adelaide, meanwhile, managed to get a point from their clash against the Sydney Thunder due to their match in Canberra being cancelled due to poor smoke conditions as a result of the bushfires.
Although the Strikers managed to complete their innings, the Thunder had already mustered 40 runs with the loss of just one wicket, meaning the hosts would have prevailed had at least five overs been bowled.
However, the Strikers did post a competitive total of over 160 runs, so a draw probably is a fair result.
Adelaide will be hoping for a better start against the Scorchers, given they lost two very early wickets before recovering nicely courtesy of good batting from Jake Weatherald, Alex Carey and Jonathon Wells – who made an unbeaten half-century.
These three batsman may have to score high totals again, given the ominous form of Perth batsmen such as Marsh, in particular, who hit half a dozen sixes en route to his 56 not out.
Prediction
Tonight’s contest should go down to the wire. The Scorchers showed plenty of promise with the bat, but things could be more challenging in Adelaide given the short turnaround. While Perth were impressive at home, Adelaide on their turf should produce enough quality to get home.

Carey put on the best display of aggressive off side hitting I think I have ever seen. Superb. What a talent.

That selfish Mitch Marsh innings really hurt them.

Talk about a match of twists and turns. In a shortened contest due to a rain delay, Adelaide posted an imposing total of 198 off 18 overs, courtesy of great batting from Weatherald and Carey who each finished with 83 and 55 respectively. Perth however turned the match on its head as Inglis and Livingstone smashed the Adelaide attack to all parts of the ground, cruising to 0-129. However, the openers gave their wickets away to Khan, back to back, and that changed the momentum big time as Adelaide assumed control of the contest and slowed the run rate to leave Perth with no hope in the end. A great win for Adelaide and perhaps a lost opportunity for Perth after a scorching start from their openers.

Great stuff from Adelaide. They were in a huge spot of bother as Livingstone and Inglis destroyed their attack. But two wickets in a row from Khan changed everything, given that he removed both Inglis and Livingstone and robbed Perth of their momentum. Perth 6/165

WICKET: Strikers also scored 165 runs by this stage. Scorchers still in touch but another wicket falls as Green goes for 1. Adelaide taking control now after a big scare! Agar with a couple of wickets in the over as Salt takes the catch. Perth 6/165
