The South Australians are in all sorts of trouble and this certainly didn’t help!

Lets see , nothings clear cut for 1 or 2. Still rather concerning overall really 5 and 6 still up in there air too. As I said when we got away from england I was less certain about who to play and how it shapes up. Best we can do is see how this line up shapes up after three shields game. Harris and Burns arguably making their claims. No confidence in 1, 2 , 5 or 6 though right now for me.

Yes he's either mis-read the bounce or his eye isn't in as the cut shot should be a bread and butter shot for him. Not to say he should have played that shot, but given that he did, he got it quite wrong. Jury is still out for me on Warner; I thought with that century last week he had worked his way back to form, but the last two innings seem a continuation of his struggles in England.

All banter aside thats not good from warner today. Burns and Harris are making their claims in front or along side him. Still reserving comment until all three shield games completed.

Ironically harris stood up well again . Maybe he’s also a batsman that just cant handle english conditions and goes well at home like warner? looks like warner harris and burns are duking out the opening bats . Burns has had to bat at gabba twice on the toughest wicket . With these shield games considering the test venues I don’t know why they just don’t play them all at waca/gabba and adelaide oval to benefit the upcoming test matches . Can give st kilda and drummoyne a big miss right now .

Well carey made 117 on the road. Head made 50 . Its twice in a row. Not convinced by wade so much either with his 20 on a bat friendly pitch in north sydney. Pucovski I read you on his struggle and good obeservation as cant see the match at all but he’s still making more runs than than wade, carey and head in the lead up. Interesting conundrum for me. 5 and 6 still seems very ambiguous although I don’t trust the selectors to change much but lets see, 64 at the WACA is a good knock. Im not sure if his final game is in Brisbane. I hope so as Gabba seems to be the hardest place to bat right now.

Carey has made 15 more than Head. But it's only 15 and not sure you can read too much into that as a stand alone stat. Carey's dismissal was appalling - white ball shot when the match context (especially the lateness of the day) didn't warrant it. He'll need to be better than that if he wants to succeed at Test level. Pucovski: He's getting some runs on the board, but he's struggling to make them. In the SA game he was going so slowly before picking up the pace to get his hundred. In the WA game he was crawling and really seemed to be finding it hard to get the ball away. For the first half of his innings he was going at a SR of 25 when his team mates were batting with relative ease, He eventually picked up the pace in the second part of his innings before getting out for 64. It's good that he's preserving his wicket and ultimately getting some runs, however it's concerning to me that he's finding it difficult against Shield attacks as the step up to Test level will be a whole different story, should he get there.

hey jeff, Still he made 15 more runs than Head despite a poor shot choice. change of venues are key though back in australia seems like we can only trust the matches at waca and gabba to date and the gabba is difficult to bat on right now. Ive always stated lets see how these three shield games play out . Right now pucowksi and wade winning that 5/6 slot race although Wade hasn’t impressed all that much in shield either with an average 20 yesterday at drummoyne and be interesting to see if selectors will reward form off these three matches. Head is performing poorly which is a real concern as carey has shaded him well in both matches so far with red ball one on the road at st kilda but still head was poor there in theory. Selectors have some dilemmas over the 5 and 6 slots. Lets see how the next few days and next week go though.

Change of venue puts things into perspective.
