PS your stellar support for women's sport comes smashing through when you come onto a post about Lanning's sublime knock to have a middle class moan about the name of the series. And ignore the actual contest.

You'd be right cross about the Kangaroos having played England for "the ashes" in 39 series of Rugby League then old sport.

The Ashes? I thought that the ashes was the burning of bails over 100 years ago & put into a small urn, which England & Australia have fought over ever since. I'm all for women's sport, but to call the women's cricket games between the Australian & England women's teams the Ashes is just not right! Is the New Zealand women's national rugby team called the All Blacks..no Is the Australian women's rugby league team called the Kangaroos..no. The Australian men's hockey team is called The Kookaburras, and the women's team The Hockeyroos. That's all good, so don't call a test series between the Australian women's team & the England women's team The Ashes, because its not.

she timed and placed the ball magnificently, with pure technique Mooney batted brilliantly as well until the pace went off, you could she was mistiming it before she got out. but a great knock. nice Ash the Bash cameo. then Perry. a weapon. Schutt. a stiletto. and we fielded the house down early. we really looked like we could win by 150. which is just ridiculous. so much talent. they really need the World team to test them, no offence to england who have quality cricketers and are well led.
