I thought that the ashes was the burning of bails over 100 years ago & put into a small urn, which England & Australia have fought over ever since.
I'm all for women's sport, but to call the women's cricket games between the Australian & England women's teams the Ashes is just not right!
Is the New Zealand women's national rugby team called the All Blacks..no
Is the Australian women's rugby league team called the Kangaroos..no.
The Australian men's hockey team is called The Kookaburras, and the women's team The Hockeyroos.
That's all good, so don't call a test series between the Australian women's team & the England women's team The Ashes, because its not.
