The Sydney Roosters head to Kogarah to tackle their old rivals the St George Illawarra Dragons. Join The Roar from 7:30pm (AEST) for all the action and live scores.
It’s a clear mismatch at Netstrata Jubilee Stadium as the Chooks tussle with the Dragons.
Trent Robinson’s men are flying high in second spot on the table. While they have Canberra breathing down their necks for a top-two position, they are going well ahead of the semis.
The Roosters dispatched the Warriors easily last weekend and have won five on the bounce. They are looking the goods and might be the only team well-equipped to better the Storm.
In contrast, the Dragons have been meandering towards the end of a tough season.
While they showed guts last weekend against Cronulla, they made far too many basic errors. They are playing for pride with a top-eight finish well out of the reach.
Sitting second bottom, they won’t win the wooden spoon but it has still been a diabolical campaign for them.
The Red V might need a miracle in this one, with their home fans fed up as well.
Coach Paul McGregor is under huge pressure but he has made some changes this week – starting Jackson Ford and dropping Mikaele Ravalawa, with Jonus Pearson coming in.
Both Englishmen James Graham and Gareth Widdop have made an impact since returning from injury, and ‘Mary’ will be hoping they can pull off a big upset.
The Roosters are virtually at full fitness, minus skipper Boyd Cordner and hooker Jake Friend.
Sam Verrills will play at 9 with Mitch Aubusson partnering Angus Crichton in the second-row.
With James Tedesco in fine form, Cooper Cronk and Luke Keary pulling the strings in the halves, and Latrell Mitchell getting back to his best, this could be a long night for St George Illawarra.
Prediction
The Roosters are a well-oiled machine and poised for another grand final appearance. The Dragons will try hard but won’t get near them.
Roosters to win by 18 points.
Join The Roar from 7:35pm (AEST) for the play by play.

Mate, if you've seen my rants you know I've cleaned out my local and the cops have a bus down the road every time Dragons play. They used to park outside my place but the fumes were stuffing up their readings and they had to move.

McGregor's position is now terminal. He's not only lost the dressing room, he can't find the stadium. Bruce Gordon needs to dip into the petty cash tin and pay out Mary's contract and then start talks with the NRL and Shane Flanagan about him coaching the Dragons next year.

Mate, Scott predicted the Roosters would run riot in this game days ago...

Ha in your dreams. Tell me, how does it feel to be so wrong about things so often?

So you finally understand that Smith and the rest are South Sydney juniors then. Now stay on your side of the fence before we decide to change the boundary lines again and just leave you with Bondi Beach! ;-)

Kensington, Coogee, Maroubra, Moore Park all became Sou ffs juniors after your mob redrew the boundary lines and stole them from us in the 50's. You can keep Zetland though.

To be fair Big Dell won a premiership at the Dragons as well... but that was almost a decade ago. Still, that's better than the 13 years since the Broncos last premiership!

Between them knights and st george have 5 of NSW pack. Pretty poor effort. I know Sims is out but still pretty good packs not putting in.
