The video refs are out of control. They remind me of the old days when touchies would run onto the field every few minutes just to get their heads on tv.
Flex, I hate to critic the Ref but that guy is not up to it. He got that play wrong on 3 issues. It wasnt a knockon ,the marker wasnt square and the marker interferred in the ruck. The current Refs interpretation of the ball hits the ground – its classed a knockon ,irrespective of it travelling backwards,is get the officials offside big time. The classic was last weeks B Ferguson “Knockback”.
The Sharks coach & supporters blew up bigtime because there’s 100 times this year the refs rule that a knockon – even though the ball may have travels backwards.
So I suppose the correct decision would have been for the on field ref to deny the challenge. Which just sucks. It was bleedingly obvious Wighton infringed. Shouldn’t that be the kind of howler the system is there to prevent?

Yeah I’m using the term “correct decision” loosely.
