Come on TB, had Souths scored against the Dogs after hands in the back by Gagai causing Holland to fall you would be screaming bloody murder and you know it. Had it been shoulder to shoulder that would be different but it wasn't. Between the hands in the back and the accidental trip from behind Gagai was robbed of ANY opportunity to get to the ball otherwise he would probably have just dived and knocked the ball dead. I would have had no problem if the same call was given if Gagai and Holland had switched places and Souths were denied a try.

I don’t get this one. Holland didn’t push the defender or pull him to the ground. He didn’t change course to deny access to the ball. It was two blokes colliding as they both went for the ball. The video refs explanation was “Holland put a hand on him.” Is that really the rule? There’s plenty of times players hands come into contact with someone who doesn’t have the ball...it doesn’t necessarily mean they are taking them out of play.
