Foxsports, lead by Vossy, are starting to just accept the decision and move on. Particularly for forward passes. Its refreshing. They also seem to know the rules and talk about how the rules apply to the replays.

The same people complaining about the 'technicality' were the same people who complained loudest, demanding the rule be made more clear-cut in order to reduce the confusion involved in obstruction rulings. They got what they wanted and yet, they continue to complain. I like the way the rule is now. Players understand their obligations and 9 times out of ten, you can tell on the first replay whether it's an obstruction or not.

I love it when a player submits (which is simply an admission of guilt, shepherd) and for some Bizzare reason they are aloud to continue, ITS A PENALTY,,,,,,,,,,,,, GIVE IT

It’s tiring listening to guys like Fatty, Johns and Gould blabber on every week about “the defender wouldn’t have got there anyway” or “it’s a technicality” or “the defender played that well”. If a decoy runner runs at the defenders outside shoulder and/or stops his run in the defensive line it’s a penalty. It’s that simple. I think the NRL should be congratulated on this. After years of tinkering they’ve come up with a pretty black and white rule where you can reasonably predict what the outcome will be when it gets sent upstairs. You get the odd howler but that’s more due to operator error than any problem with the rule.
