Should Josh Hodgson have been off instead of helping the Raiders score first?

By The Roar / Editor

What a play- but should he have been receiving a HIA?

jimmmy do you REALLY think that Doueihi copped a hard enough knock to merit a HIA? He still had to go off even though he only stayed down for the penalty. Hodgson stayed down because he couldn't get up quickly and then staggered when he got to his feet. If Hodgson is allowed to stay on like that then players should have to be unconscious to go off for a HIA. It CANNOT be left up to the clubs to decide when self-interest will always take over. Make no mistake the Raiders received a material advantage last night while Souths were disadvantaged losing Doueihi TWICE for no good reason.

If Hodgeson was concussed, I would wack him in the head before he runs on to the field in the GF. His thinking was as clear as. His decision making perfect. His reactions spot in. The Raiders staff got it completely right , he wasn't concurred. Note how their decision wasn't overruled by the Doctors who would be watching his subsequent actions. Why .?because be was fine.

Raiders played the system. They knew how important Josh was in that early part of the game. Will be happy to get a warning letter or fine. Not certain what role the side-line doctor had but Josh should have been off for a HIA.

Should definitely have gone off for HIA testing minimum, then can come back on if passes. NRL always soft on player welfare at finals time.
