A game that prefers to shrink rather than welcome new demographics deserves to die out. Snob run sports are defined by who plays them, and equally important, who does not play them. For the last 30 years rugby had a giant playing population injection of literal giant Islanders and South Africans in Western Sydney and Perth, and made no attempt to grow the game with them. It does not cost money to keep people playing a game they already bloody played before they came here. The AFL would have had buses of coaches and administrators on their door steps to help. Oh that's right, they did do that, and offered more money to play their game and were unopposed to somehow pretend they could ban "non-Australian" games from park lands. But you could still play cricket? Stranger, I see Melbourne's White Australia Policy ball just happens to have the same rules as the school game of Harrow Public School in England. Worst of all to fans, somehow Rugby League now has more running than "The Running Game".

I guess I was expecting something more positive than vague "we will" statements all of which are obvious. What are the specific plans? As far as the comments on the recent rugby internationals are concerned. Once again bland statements and excuses. When will we recognise that a real wind of change is needed for longer term success. Many his so called "experienced" played particularly the current captain must be stood aside for longer term success. Learn form the All Blacks
