Important distinction and well said. I think the Wallabies are worse without Folau but only at wing. They’re better off with Hodge or DHP at 15.

The article up on the Roar was about the Walabies being better (ie more rounded) without Folau. I think that's true. There are persistent slack areas to Folau's game in tactical kicking and defensive positioning (and defensive effort) that cost the Wallabies. I don't think Beale is the best alternative to Folau at FB to get the improvements the Wallabies should make in Folau's absence to make up for the loss of his running game. Now, the Waratahs are certainly not better without Folau. No question.

No Izzy. No Naiyaravoro. That's about 25 tries a season gone!!

To be fair, it was fairly predictable when Izzy was there too... I think it was called ‘Give it to Izzy’. I take your point though. I think it will take time to adjust to the post-Folau era, certain players *(cough- Beale) will need to step up. The idea of being better without Folau is based on the assumption, a champion team will beat a team of champions, it will take time for this new structure and interplay to come together. Give it time.

Geez that was a pathetic attempt at a tackle by Beale to allow the wingers try. As the last man I wouldve thought there wouldve been a lot more commitment than that........
