'We're better conditioned': Dave Rennie still confident Wallabies can match Springboks despite Bledisloe loss

By The Roar / Editor

Dave Rennie admits taking on the Springboks next week will be a challenge, but that the Wallabies have it in them to ‘stress’ the world champions.

Relying on conditioning shows there's no game plan

Three test series against a weaken French team, reality check in a three test series against the ABs n now the World Champions. It just gets worse. DR will need to pull out his playbook n show he can really coach or it will get really ugly this weekend. The interview already gives you a rough idea…..the team he picks will have changes….possibly 4 in the backs n 2 of 3 in the forwards.

No, but rather than waffling, he needs to address the real issues, which are around a suitable game plan that the Wallabies can actually execute.

Australia at home. History suggests Wallabies are favourites. Boks might continue getting youngsters some minutes. Looking forward to it. The matchup seems to result in tight matches, and home field advantage.

If SA lose to Oz that's a huge win by Oz and a big failure by SA but what crazy person would put money on it, I certainly wouldn't. SA start huge favourites.

Ranking smanking. The Wallabies aren't going to improve their ranking if they play NZ.It is pretty clear by now that NZ is better than OZ. South Africa is yet to play NZ and OZ for the first time in 24 months. Nobody knows where they are in relation to anyone other than each other. Let the RC play out before coming to conclusions.

The biggest nightmare is that the Wallabies win by a small margin. All of a sudden they will be "on a roll", "potential world champions", "finally getting it done" and, the past few months will be forgotten. Need to lose a few more before reality is grasped.

Let's be honest SA are heavy favourites. They are world champs, currently #1, just beat the Lions and Argies. Wallabies are #7, won 3 games from 12 in 2020/21 and came last in the Rugby Championship last year. If the Boks lose to the Wallabies next week it will be a major upset and I just hope it doesn't get embarrassing.

Forwards win matches. It is the backs that determine by how much. Until the forwards start hunting like a pack it will be an exercise of pissing into the wind and getting very wet.

So when he's interviewed on television he should just say nothing? Right...

Rennie is starting to sound like a fraud.. Where was conditioning in this game? What’s the point in conditioning if they can’t deliver on a game day?
