It’s a crucial early match to kick the weekend’s A-League action off as Adelaide United and the Newcastle Jets do battle at Coopers Stadium. Stay up to date with their A-League clash with live scores on The Roar from 7:35pm (AEDT).
They may sit five places apart on the A-League ladder entering Matchweek 11, but just two points separate fifth-placed Adelaide and tenth-placed Newcastle – making this a much more important and intriguing clash than the ladder otherwise suggests.
Adelaide have found form in recent weeks following a 4-0 hammering by Macarthur, knocking off Central Coast and Western Sydney by identical 3-2 scorelines. They’ve been hot in terms of putting the ball in the back of their opponent’s net, but Adelaide have also been very leaky in defence and will look to tighten up.
Newcastle, on the other hand, had a five-match undefeated run end in bitterly disappointing circumstances on Sunday night when they were defeated by then last-placed Wellington 2-0 at home. A win tonight could, temporarily, catapult the Jets up to fourth – so they’re very much in the hunt, but they must atone for last weekend’s shocker.

I've wanted Delianov dropped for weeks, by my count that's the 3rd goal this season that's directly his fault. Absolute butter fingers
