Reds vs Blues: Super Rugby live scores, blog

By Max Kenney-Herbert / Roar Guru

Round 11 sees a Queensland Reds side that is starting to look like they did in 2011 welcome the Blues to Suncorp Stadium. We’ll have live scores and commentary from 7.40pm AEST.

The Reds are currently riding a four-game unbeaten streak after a nail-biting draw against the Brumbies last weekend.

The return of the halfback partnership of Will Genia and Quade cooper has seen a massive response from the rest of the squad, who seem to have upped their game collectively.

The Reds currently sit in fourth position on the table and will be looking to decisively beat the second-placed blues to prove that this season can be a winning one.

The Blues are coming off back to back wins over the Highlanders and Hurricanes and will be hoping that this rematch of the 2011 Super Rugby semi-final at Suncorp Stadium won’t yield the same result as it did on that day, when the Reds won 30-13.

The Blues have looked like a different side from last season’s horror show but they have still managed to get caught in scrappy games against the Waratahs and Chiefs.

I see this game going the way of the Reds who will be pumped up after last weeks anti-climactic draw against the Brumbies, a team that they dominated in nearly all facets of the game.

Whilst the Blues have looked solid and the likes of Rene Ranger and Piri weepu seeing a return to form, I see the Reds winning this one by more than six in front of a booming Suncorp crowd.

Saying that the Wallabies were winning games they were close to losing when they were expected to win those games comfortably in the first place isn't a positive. All those games you mention they were heavy favourites to win, so yes, they were expected to win those games.

You are right, someone like me with a different opinion, which like you I am entitled to. Very humble indeed, no arrogance at all. I did not say you could not post, just if it is not accurate I will say something. Surely you would do the same. It was a good close game but I dont like when only one side is singled out for discipline when the opposition was just as bad, hence my first reply to your first comment. You may have conceeded differently later, but you did not in your first post. Why is that so terrible. Blues lead just about every stat other than penalties. I am just stating what I saw also and there was no difference in discipline. If the offside was correctly called in the last minute, it may have been a different story. I will not throw all my toys out of the cot and refuse to debate someone with a different view on it though, that would be arrogant.

As I have already stated there is no point having a discussion with someone like you. My analysis whilst not being very in depth was in no way one sided and I also conceeded that maybe the reds were infringing but it was down the end of the field I could not see the breakdown very well. At no point did I say the reds were angels and did not infringe I just stated what I saw. The fact is the blues infringed more, were penalised and lost the game through ill discipline. Read into what I have said all you want it doesnt change what has been written. I had the humility to conceed that maybe I didnt see everything although judging by the arrogance you just showed in telling me I cannot post unless I post objectively I dont believe you would be familiar with that term.

The go re-read last week's thread, I didn't whinge once, in fact I blamed the draw on the Reds inability to execute - several times in fact just in case someone missed it the first nine times. But don't let the facts get in the way of your prejudice

Dan, being a Red's fan you came on here with a one eyed view that the blues were off side and infringed a lot. I am a neutral and pointed out the reds did the same. I pointed out parrallels with last week, although not identical, aspects were very similar but reversed. Because I had a differing oppinion you make assumpions of me and I get told to pull my head in and that I am 'hating'. You pointing out infringements is analytical, but me doing it is not? Go figure. You are the only one getting personal champ, just because someone does not agree with you. Seeing as though you only saw one side infringing, I will 'analytically' point out that the Reds were often infront of the last feet, often did not roll away, often laid on the ball, entered the ruck from the side, an round he side of a maul. I know the blues infringed also, but the Reds are not the angels they are made out to be by you lot. My beef is with someone who can ot see both sides of a match. When you can comment objectively, it will not be an issue.

Too many times in rugby these days , the team scoring tries end up losing . Teams can now just kick the ball and play for a penalty down the field , ROPE A DOPE RUGBY .....lol . NZ teams need to pick up on this strategy as the Australians love using this game plans against them . This game plan works against nz teams as they will mostly run the ball back in their own 22 , as they love attacking at all cost , unfortunately they make too many mistakes in their own half . Compare that to the Australia teams they will only attack from their own half if its on , south african teams 9 outer 10 will kick from their own half . Anyways , congrats to ewen magenzy for roping the dopes (nz teams ) in 2013.

Maybe if you read what I actually posted you would find that I did say there was a distinct difference, this was in the fact they went for goal and are now being criticised for it. This is in direct opposition to the view last week that most haters where on about "their fault dont rely on the ref etc" which in my view was going to happen again by the looks of things with the blues kiling the ball every time it was in their 22 and being offside. This time they took the points and won. I dont know what your beef is. I was not describing you but a typical reds hater for which there is no reasoning with. Maybe you don't agree with all those points but you are certainly hating. For the record where is it that I personally insulted you? Or are you just being oversensitive and paranoid? In fact my first two posts were very polite in contradiction to the arrogant non-analytical nature of the response I recieved.

My theory is that Ben S targets the games that he thinks KPM will be watching.....could just be me though ;-)

It's only an issue for his critics. Look at the side last night. Would you want lance on the counter attack? Cooper did brilliantly on occasions sweeping and cleaning up and countering. That all goes if you want him in the line defending, making two positions weaker

Except that as the commentators noted, he was defending at 15 again......
