A third title in four seasons awaits Brisbane today if they can defeat a Wanderers team that has managed to make back-to-back grand finals in their first two years in the A-League.

Since entering the competition in 2012, the Wanderers have wasted no time certifying themselves as arguably the premier club in the league.

Last season, they won the minor premiership before losing to the Mariners in the A-League grand final. This season, they finished second and once again find themselves contesting the decider.

Although they were favoured last season to defeat the Mariners at home, the Wanderers face a tough assignment against Brisbane up at a packed Suncorp Stadium.

The Roar usually play their best football at home and will look to put the Wanderers away early by dominating possession.

Besart Berisha, Dimitri Petratos, Liam Miller, Luke Brattan, Thomas Broich and Matt McKay are the key players that will help Brisbane not only maintain possession but use it effectively enough to trouble a well organised Wanderers defence.

Western Sydney meanwhile will go on the counter attack today. It is a strategy that is proving a successful one in world football at the moment with Real Madrid, Chelsea FC and Atletico Madrid all thriving employing such tactics.

Whether it works for the Wanderers today will depend on how effective Youssouf Hersi, Shinji Ono, Tomi Juric and Haliti all are on the counter attack.

If the Wanderers can turn defence into attack quickly and nab a vital opening goal, then they will prove very difficult to crack for the Roar today.

Although Brisbane are at home, the Wanderers will be well supported themselves and may just rise to the occasion and cause the upset to secure their first ever A-League championship.

Wanderers to win 2-1.

WSW are just a bunch of hackers. I'm surprised they didn't try to appoint Kevin Muscat and Jacob Burns.

So do every other active support group. I believe one of the RBB's chants goes 'f*ck the Victory', am I wrong?

You don't point to bad behaviour to justify bad behaviour.

Didn't even mention that but since you did, I will say that it is common knowledge that at major sporting events when the teams are lined up and there's person standing in front of them with a microphone and stand that means the anthem is going to be sung. Anyway, if the RBB actually shut up, they'd know it was being played. Ignorance is not an excuse. And it's called good sportsmanship that's why should pay deference to the crowned champions.

Yeah, I mean it was not like the Roar didn't boo every time a Wanderers player was called up to the podium. Your fans are all a bunch of bad winners.

"Best and Fairest" my arse. Bunch of bloody divers. As for Peter Green, don't even get me started. The guy is useless. Regardless of that. The referee of a grand final should NEVER be from the same city / town as one of the teams in the game.

The WSW fans travelled a long way to support THEIR team. What do they owe Brisbane Roar? Why do they have to watch the medal presentation? Also to say it again about the not singing the national anthem nonsense; it wasn't deliberate, people just couldn't hear that it was happening, of course if people knew it was happening they would have stopped chanting and sung that instead.

Shame on The Roar fans for containing swear words in their chants, congrats to WSW's fans, it all made for a top notch atmosphere.

One of the reasons why I found it hard to get behind the Wanderers. Football club is great, but there is a rogue element in the supporters that reflects badly on them as a whole. I didnt catch the opening, did were they chanting through the national anthem like they did last year?

Yeah it's a pity after the Wanderers' fans were criticised for it last year, they did the same this year. Oh well. Congrats Brisbane - the most successful club in the land.

I'm a roar fan and had no problem with them doing that. I couldn't really hear what Topor-Stanley said either so it doesn't really bother me.

Congratulations to Brisbane on their third A-League Championship in 4 years - a great feat that will last for a long time. Former Melb Victory and now Brisbane goalkeeper Theo has won 5 A-League grand finals out of 5, with Victory and the Roar. It was a great game and was played out how the football gods had predicted. The turning point came when Nicholai Topor-Stanley injured himself. It wasn't a foul challenge, he simply twisted his knee by stepping on the ball in an awkward tackle to prevent Besart having a shot. NT-S left the field and this forced Iacopo La Rocca from holding midfield into the central defensive role. This then released the shackles on Broich. Brisbane at once regained control of the attacking midfield area once Marston medal co-winner La Rocca changed position and Broich was able to create more chances for the Roar. It was just a matter of time and a little bad defending, before they scored. Ironically WSW goal scorer Spiranovic, was guilty of leaving Berisha unmarked with a free header on the 6 yard line, which the Albanian easily put away to create the equaliser and extra time. Covic was probably more at fault and should have come off his line to collect the cross ahead of Besart. End of WSW's championship winning chances. But WSW again squandered the few chances they had in extra time and Haliti in particular, should have buried a free shot on goal instead of an attempt that was well within Theo's grasp. Another couple of defensive errors by the re-shaped WSW defense allowed Enrique to at first flick on a pass to the far post and then collect the return pass totally unmarked, with Spiranovic and co watching on as the slippery fish slammed the ball into the roof of the net with only a few minutes remaining of extra time. We all knew it was going to be too late for WSW to come back from there, even though they still managed a couple of half chances with seconds remaining. As I say, the football Gods must have meant it to happen, as we still rue what could have been if Sebre Delovski had correctly awarded the penalty to Mark Milligan last week and given Victory a big shout to make the Grand Final in Sydney. It wasn't meant to be, was it. And if I see one more Ashley and Martin ad on SBS I'm going to throw my empty beer bottles at the TV. Lets hope Ashley and Martin aren't proud sponsors for Eurovision or the Brazillian World Cup. I my just pull my hair out in frustration!

And turning their backs during the Roar's medal presentation as well. It's called being a good loser but it looks the Wankerers can't even do that. Don't know who I hate more, them or MVFC.

RBB sang all game non stop. Some of their tunes are still stuck in my head. Their passion for the game was impressive and in general I thought they were not disrespectful. Although the flares were a dumb idea and distracted from what was otherwise a great atmosphere. The Brisbane public were very good too. Great appreciation and respect to applaud Shinji Ono when he left the field. Great game all round thanks WSW and Roar for another memorable GF.

32 fouls by WSW and 13 by Roar. 6 yellows by WSW and 0 by Roar. Me thinks WSW have an anger management problem starting with Popovic as the orchestra leader. Well done Roar for being the best and fairest team on the pitch.
