I forgot to put my scores in this week. Alcock has bee heavily involved in attack, but some pretty poor defence. There is no way he has outplayed Hooper so far this year, who had another quality game on the weekend. Arnold has been excellent all year, but played limited minutes on the weekend and didn't do anything much noteworthy to warrant selection in team of the week. Also, it's Mitch Inman, not Matt.

McMahon is a great player, however I think his selection for higher honours depends on balance. He is a little guy, and last years spring tour proved that playing two little guys (hooper + mcmahon) in the backrow, doesn't work real well. A bit of a headache going forward, because the form of these little guys as individuals warrants selection.

Good point PM. At the other end of your observation is Will Skelton. I would love to see SeanMc run through that big blob and put the myth to sleep.

Well done. Good write up PeterK. I read a lot of the different forums as I am based off shore FIFO to Australia. One thing I see is a number of people have this thing about height and weight etc. The young guy Sean McMahon - 20 years old seems to be able to put the myth of needed to be Godzilla to play our wonderful game to bed. The kid is a tough as teak - appears to have no fear for himself or any one else, work rate and natural ability second to none, can play any form of the game. The old saying," It is not the size of the dog in the fight but the size of the fight in the dog that counts", comes to mind here. I think you have the teams pretty much as they should be at this point.

Not reds bias, I have been scoring him well myself, stands out behind a beaten pack most weeks. White behind a dominant packs does not. The stats do back him up. No heart in the forwards is the cause of the reds malaise. They are very entitled, highly paid soft and do not put in.

Looking at Genia's selection/ score, I tjhought it may be Reds' supporter voting bias (in the absence of many other options), but looking at the stats he is easily the best performer at half-back, other than kicks in open play where he has 40 in five games, way in excess of the average. Is this contributing to the Red's malaise?

Amazing that a 7 with such a poor tackle percentage who isn't even his provinces first choice can rate so well
