New teams required! Epidemic decimates Origin camp

By Jay C / Roar Guru

A violent case of bed bugs, some as large as tennis balls, has swept through both Origin camps amazingly.

The epidemic is thought to be so severe that none of the first choice 34 players will be able to play.
Experts have described the players as being itchier than George Zimmerman’s trigger finger.

Another man described the situation as lousier than Paris Hilton’s top drawer.

Maroon Captain Cameron Smith has been quoted as saying, “Aaaaaaarrrrrghlhgxl.”

With seven days to go until the first game is played Daley and Meninga have to fumigate the hotel and then assemble all new teams.

For some reason they have requested that you, the Roarers, guide them in their decision making. Who will it be?

Yeah, the front row was a struggle. Seens there are 13 of them named in the current NSW team. I almost had big Willie in there for a while.

Might be a bit short up front. But would definately hold there own against the Blues 1sts. Could QLD come up with a team to roll them? ... For sure!!

Definitely Option A in 95. Don't think they would have wanted to bank on another Ben Ikin experiment paying off.

I have 2 theories about QLD's so called 'loyalty' during Origins. a) QLD don't have the depth to make changes on a whim. Bringing in Florimo, Barnhill, Muir, Fittler - It's not like QLD had guys like this sitting in the stands watching (well, I guess they did, but they were ineligible). b) NSW is so full of factions because it was the whole of the old comp. Because QLD was only received into the NSWRL very late on I think it really brought the state together in a lot of ways. You didn't really get the warring factions because it's not like there were suddenly 8 BRL teams vying for attention in the national comp.

What I found interesting Jay C and Jara W is that in the entire series Queensland made one change - Dale Shearer played on the wing in game 1 and was replaced by Jason Smith in Games 2 & 3. On the other hand, the Blues chopped and changed in all 3 matches. For example, the Blues forward packs were: Game 1: Fittler, Menzies, MacKay, Carroll, Serdaris, Harrogon Game 2: MacKay, Barnhill, Florimo, Pay, Serdaris, Harrogon Game 3: Fittler, Menzies, Muir, Carroll, Serdaris, Harrogon Queensland had the same forward pack in all 3 matches. I can't remember why the Blues made all the changes but it sure didn't help.

I was just reading through the team lists for 95 this morning. It was absolutely ridiculous that QLD won that game. You look at the QLD team of no names. Then you look at the NSw list with absolute superstars and an immortal and you wonder how on earth.

Dare I say that a lot of NSW fans would be ecstatic about this situation. Until they remember 95 that is.

He has been involved with the emerging squad for quite a while now. Think he might have even been on standby to debut a year or two ago.
