The Wallabies scapped to a 47-10 win over the USA Eagles and managed to avoid any injuries ahead of the World Cup.
>>MATCH REPORT: Wallabies down the US in World Cup warm up
The Wallabies‘ road to the 2015 Rugby World Cup continues with a historic match against the USA Eagles at Solider Field in Chicago.
Join The Roar for live scores from 9:30am (AEST)
Despite entering this match as heavy favourites, the Wallabies have vowed they won’t be taking things lightly with just weeks to go before the first match of the World Cup in England.
The Eagles struggled last time they hosted a top-ranked side at Solider Field, going down 74-6 against the All Blacks in 2014.
They also struggled recently when they hosted English premiership club side the Harlequins, going down 24-19 in Philadelphia.
Despite the expectation of victory the Wallabies will carry into this match, stand in skipper James Slipper told the media that the visitors won’t be treating the match as anything less than an international Test:
“We would do the same preparations if we were playing the All Blacks.
“We want consistency and a world-class preparation going forward. That’s a key and that is on us.”
Can the Eagles push the Wallabies at Solider Field? Or will the Australians rack up a cricket score?
Join The Roar for live scores and coverage from 9:30am (AEST).

ha ha, just saw that. Yes its a little bit selective though with what will be 'defended'. Wasn't saying much after the Eden Park match with a mini hibernation retreat but is now chirping away merrily now the Wallabies are back in their winning ways. :-) Makes Pool A interesting...

Folau had a throat injury that kept him out of a few games last year. Think Hooper missed a game sometime this year (not just for suspension)... the rest... can't remember them being injured!

Harry, It's the same old problem though. The Wallabies best XV looks okay but I seriously doubt they can win the thing, the Cheika factor being their best asset. Mumm or Douglas, Phipps or Genia, Foley or Cooper, Mitchell or Horne, are any of these alternatives game changing? Nor would I be counting on Pocock & Hooper starting every game together, especially on slower English pitches, & against northern hemisphere style of rugby & refereeing. The Wallabies might even make the final, & if they do, they have a 50-50 chance to win the thing. But I just don't think they're that good. Seriously, I have to say this, if the Wallabies are the second best rugby team on earth right now, then that doesn't say much for the depth of world rugby union. Jarryd Hayne has cracked the NFL, ex-leagueie Israel Folau is the best Australian rugby player & there's maybe a half-dozen to dozen better athletes running around in the NRL, being conservative. I know this observation will upset some Aussie rugby fans, but I'm just being honest.

There have been several comments on this thread about desirable Wallaby replacements should an injury occur in the squad of 31. With uncertainty still hovering over the choice of our best five-eighth, I'd suggest the wisdom of bringing in Christian Lealiifano for number 10 duties, should the opportunity arise. CLL's playing well right now, he has a good all-round game - runs, tackles, supports, makes plays, kicks well out of hand and off the tee - and he possesses a proven big-match temperament. I'm still dumbfounded as to why he was never tried by Cheika. CLL's selection could have answered a lot of questions and put the Wallabies in a far more settled position by the start of the RWC.

I was just thinking about Foley and Hooper the other day as an example. Have they ever been injured? Phibbs as well? Folau? Compare them to the injury history of the core of other state sides and it's quite extraordinary.

True. But few serious, season ending injuries. In years gone by we've had 4 or 5 front-line players out for all or most of the season. Those that spring to mind are Pocock, Moore, Genia, Cooper, Palu, TPN, Sio. We're always going to get a few niggles, but I can't remember the Wallabies being this injury free in a long time.

"But it was an oz game and they’ve a right to enjoy it so reading through this particular thread I think we were a bit heavy handed." Wow, you are really up yourself. Amazing you can watch rugby at all with that rather large jammed up there.

I'd agree. Foley is strictly SXV. Has no X factor at test level. Does the job but wouldn't make a NZ SXV side, not even the Blues as he doesn't suit the style, the rest being All Blacks and far better 10's. Mind you, 10 isn't strong at all for the Wallabies, and that will hurt them at this tournament when tighter control is required. I don't think he's got to his best yet though, give it a year or two with the Tahs and W's.

Taylorman, I'm sure PeterK believes 100% the saying of Voltaire: "I disapprove of what you say, but I defend to the death you right to say it". I also believe he's thinking of your death, not his! ;-)

No he's not! Who exactly in NZed rates him??? I cant think of too many ITM sides in NZ that would prefer Foley over their starting 10! Least in my opinion anyway!

its still there, but they have improved their set play..we still suck at scrums and line out so if Australia can kick a lot of line outs and go for scrum, Fiji is beatable..

I actually thought Speight would take this game to seal a 23 place in the main team..boy was I wrong..whats wrong with him? ..he has been really really bad since he went back to Fiji for his grand father's funeral..even the Beale try, he could have scored that had he just motored, instead he passed it to tomane and then to foley ...
