Broncos and Cowboys announce teams for 2015 NRL Grand Final

By The Roar / Editor

The Brisbane Broncos and the North Queensland Cowboys have announced their teams for the 2015 NRL Grand Final to be played this Sunday at ANZ Stadium in Sydney.

Justin Hodges has been named in the centres for Brisbane, but will have to get off a dangerous throw charge at the judiciary on Tuesday night if he is to take part in the game.

Hodges announced his retirement from the NRL this year, and if he plays in the grand final it would be his final game of rugby league.

Centre Dale Copley has been named on an extended bench for the Broncos in case the Brisbane skipper fails to beat the charge from his tackle on Roosters backrower Aidan Guerra in the preliminary final against the Roosters.

Aside from Hodges, there are no changes or potential changes for either side from the teams that took the field for the preliminary finals, with Johnathan Thurston expected to take the field despite some niggling leg injuries.

If Hodges is ruled out, it is expected the Broncos 2014 co-captain Corey Parker will be named as captain of the side.

Utility Ray Thompson has been named on an extended bench for the Cowboys.

The AFL Grand final is televised on free to view tv. The NRL Grand final should be televised on free to view also. I am a Cowboys supporter. I am formerly from Queensland, now living in Victoria.

I'm sure DCE, Foran, Johnson, Austin etc would have something to say about that. Would have helped them alot with some better forwards or coach surrounding them. In any case, these four playing this weekend are certainly special in their own right!

Missed that one eJ. I'm one of the few NSWmen that was a wally fan but most of what he says is absolutely cringe worthy. Anyway wait until you see the maelstrom of BS that starts flying here tomorrow...

The Cowboys fans must get tired of JT's excuses everytime they get bundled out of the finals. He's head shaking and subtle remarks aimed at match officials regarding their rotten luck probably deflects attention from him being a class lesser than Lockyer or Johns. Good enough for the Dally M's but just not good enough to lead his team to a premiership. The bloke should just retire if he comes up empty yet again.

The only conspiracy I heard was from Wally Lewis declaring Hodges wouldn't get off because the NRL wanted a Cowboys win. Embarrassing.

As a Cowboys fan, I'd much rather Brisbane not have any excuse if we were to win. Let him play!

Goes to show how important playing as a team is! Both the Broncos & Cowboys do most of their work up the middle, the centre & wing on the most part make up the numbers. That's why solid guys like Oates have been going so well meanwhile Vidot & Copley who are arguably better wingers sit out because they're a bit too error prone. They don't need someone flashy to try and make something from nothing. The best outside backs won't do you much good if the forwards are getting rolled & your halves aren't creating changes and making smart decisions.
