Brisbane Global Rugby Tens live stream: How to stream online or watch on TV

By The Roar / Editor

The Brisbane Global Rugby Tens promise to bring an exciting weekend of club Rugby action to Suncorp Stadium, and this is The Roar‘s ultimate guide to streaming and watching the event, which starts on Saturday, February 11 at 1pm (AEDT) – 12pm (AEST).

Brisbane Tens Day 2 live scores, blog

The tournament will be played over two days between 14 Super Rugby Clubs, with the Australian and New Zealand teams being joined by French giants Toulon, the Blue Bulls from South Africa, Wild Knights from Japan and Samoa.

How to live stream

Fox Sports have the exclusive live rights to the tournament, as they do for the whole Super Rugby season which will follow it.

For that reason, using their streaming service will be the only legal way to watch either day of the event online.

Every single match of the tournament, including the finals on Sunday afternoon will be available for streaming through the Foxtel Play or Foxtel Go apps which allow viewers to stream Foxtel channels.

Foxtel Go can be used for free if you already have an existing Foxtel service. Foxtel Play is a better choice for those who are only looking to access live-streaming services without having a traditional installation.

How to watch on TV

The whole tournament will be broadcast live on Fox Sports channel 501, meaning you will need a valid Foxtel subscription complete with the sports package to watch the event.

The Foxtel Sports package, which sets you back $55 a month and has no lock-in contract gets you access to all five Fox Sports channels, Fox Footy, two ESPN channels, Eurosport, three BeIN Sports Channels, three EPL club stations and multiple racing stations.

Fox Sports broadcast will begin half an hour before the first game starts on each day, meaning 12:30pm (AEDT) on Saturday and 9:30am (AEDT) on Sunday, concluding after the last match on Saturday and after the presentation ceremony is done on Sunday.

Just an unusual year. Looking back at the corresponding weekend over previous years it has been a monotonous 30°C.

I could see there was a respectable crowd in the shade. If Aus going to be this bad every year its time to build a stadium with A/C. I don't expect your temps to get any better in next 20 yrs. Better plan now.

Thanks for the reply and info. Aussies are one of the most sports mad people. . I knew Union was not #1...your league is the best. I always tell my union kids I coach to go to Aus and play league. Two did and found they were not such hotshots. I'm in Houston TX so I know heat. Ideally this tourney should have been in an area with less heat. You guys have had some seriously hot years. Interesting that soccer is on the rise, but not unexpected given the proclivity of today's youth. TV at home vs live event is the biggest issue today. We'll have to find the answer so professional sport can flourish.

Hi all, To all those smart alecs complaining about crowd numbers... 1.You try sitting in the blazing sun for several hours. Temp expected to be 39C today. There were thousands of us standing and watching from the shade in the general walkways behind stands. 2. Overall promotion of the event was poor. On Friday some of my work colleagues still didnt even know about it. It has been a great atmosphere otherwise and some excellent games. On my way back there now. Hopefully next year they start late afternoon and run through to night time games.

I saw photographs tweeted of the ground. Plenty of people in the opposite stand, around the camera point so that they won't be seen on the TV footage.

Hi Peter, it's a paper in Melbourne, Victoria Aus. heraldsun.com.au. You can buy the subscription to the Foxtel app by itself. Not sure if it's geo-blocked.

Good observation Peter Evans, however I think most Aussie rugby followers would be quite happy with what they see at the Brisbane Tens, both of the game and the support. Rugby has many big problems in this country. For a start we have four popular codes of football - rugby is currently no 4 - except for the odd Wallaby Test series Australians prefer to watch other codes. Except for Qld/NSW/ACT there is very little interest in Rugby Union or League for that matter. There is very little 'free to air' rugby coverage whereas other football codes enjoy saturation. Soccer is on the rise here at rugby's expense. The game relies heavily upon private school pathways and has a dwindling village comp player and junior player base. Peter, you also have to realise that the East Coast of Oz is experiencing a heat wave (over 40 Deg C) in may parts. If those fans without Fox subscriptions could sit in their air con comfort and watch I'm sure they'd be happy and impressed. It is a shame that Australians aren't supporting in greater numbers but if you understood the football landscape over here you would not be surprised at all. Hopefully this will be a boost to the code and an annual event - perhaps played in Hobart so that the players are more comfortable!

How do I watch the Brisbane Tens in the USA? The FoxTel App doesn't accept members outside of Australia.
