Match preview:

The Jaguares will be looking to continue their strong form against Australian Super Rugby sides when they host the Queensland Reds today. Join The Roar for live scores and a blog of the match from 8:40am AEDT.

Despite losing their opening three matches of the season, the Jaguares bounced back last week against the Waratahs, securing a 10 point victory at home in a high scoring contest.

The Jaguares destroyed NSW in the first half, scoring five tries to lay the platform for a much-needed victory that could finally kickstart their Super Rugby campaign.

Indeed the Jaguares have won their past three matches and four of six clashes overall against Australian teams in Super Rugby so far.

The Reds should know full well what they are in for tonight given that they too lost in Velez Sarsfield this time last year.

In team news, Angus Scott-Young has been handed the No.6 jersey for the Reds’ clash in Argentina on Sunday morning (AEDT) against the Jaguares.

His move off the bench forces Adam Korczyk to openside flanker and shifts Liam Wright to the reserves.

Former Brumbies prop Ruan Smith is also in line to make his Queensland debut after he sneaked into the reserves along with hooker Andrew Ready and utility back Ben Lucas.

Alex Mafi, Sef Fa’agase, Tate McDermott were dropped from the 23.

Jaguares coach Mario Ledesma has named an unchanged starting side from the one that beat the Waratahs 38-28 last week, although star halves Martin Landajo and Juan Martin Hernandez are included on the bench.

Prediction
The Jaguares at their best will ask plenty of questions of Queensland’s defence. When momentum is on their side, the Jaguares can pile points on pretty quickly so the key for the Reds will be to turn this contest into an arm wrestle, just like the Western Force and Brumbies did last season when they travelled to Argentina and won.

If the Reds can do that, victory will be in sight. If not, the Jaguares will pounce on win no. 2 of the season.

That's what you expect when you finally appoint a coach.

great comment - absolutely sums up what the Reds are achieving this season. Normally when young teams do better than expected it is because they are playing with plenty of flair, throwing it around a bit and racking up tries against defenses that might not have been prepared for them. With this young Reds team, it is the opposite. They are playing up-the-guts, tough rugby - backing their defense and set piece and daring the other team to blink first. I know they still haven't played any NZ sides but already this has been hugely encouraging. 3 wins in a row for the first time in 5 years is a great platform to build on.

Most Kiwi's I know support the Queensland Reds as their Aussie team, which leaves an opening for the Force to return.

Yeah riddler! Haven't seen the game yet buddy, but obviously know the result ;) Except for rabid REDs fans I don't think many would've picked this result... so I'm glad I went against the tide on this one :)

I watched the Reds v Brumbies in the women's match and it was, by far the, most entertaining of the two Reds games on this weekend.

Canberra game was horrible but i think we should give this young Reds side a chance to develop before we put them in the dour category. They have some genuine pace and point scoring ability out wide and a forward pack who will give them plenty of ball.

Two matches this weekend were REALLY dour. They did not involve NZ teams. One in Canberra; the other ... this one. Bad advertisement for Super Rugby!

Reds have already equaled their total of 3 wins last year, in 4 games this year. Well done Reds, awesome gutsy display from the forwards and defensive play from the whole team. Enjoy Reds fans!

am pretty sure there was more to the story than just his defence.. tonight is about qld.. not cooper.. can we please leave that theme alone for once.. these guys are playing very well and deserve all the credit they will get.. so many people were saying they wouldn't win 1.. now 3 from 4 and the first one i still believe would have been very different without the red and yellow..

Qld drag teams down into a battle of wills and are coming out on top. These young forwards play as a pack and with a hardness beyond their years. Very proud of the team
