Perth Glory and Brisbane Roar meet in what looms as the pivotal match in deciding the final make up of the top six. Join The Roar for live scores and commentary from 10pm (AEDT).
The Glory are running hot with thirteen points from their last eighteen and come into this game with enormous confidence, a home ground advantage and an inconsistent opponent.
Last weeks’ impressive win against second-place Newcastle set them up with one last shot at cracking the top six and a win against Brisbane will move them into that spot temporarily.
Holding onto that position late Sunday will sadly not be within their control, with the Wanderers having the last say, requiring a win against Adelaide.
Brisbane face a similar scenario with a win away from home putting them in the box seat and mounting pressure on Western Sydney, who would then need all three points.
A draw in this match throws up an entirely different scenario, one which we might hold off discussing until it comes to fruition.
Brisbane were poor last week against the Wanderers and based on that effort, will find the Glory a tough ask at home.
Prediction
Home ground advantage may play a key role in this one and the Glory should have the momentum to get the win they so desperately require.
Catch all the action on The Roar live coverage from 10pm (AEDT).

Aloisi post match "I hope people can see what we're trying to do at this club". Have I missed something here? Is there actually a purpose and theme in what he has done to Roar? I can't see it.

Travel Time is no excuse. the Eagles, Wildcats and Sheffield shield team over the years have won plenty. The problem is Glory wallow in a sea of mediocrity. There recruitment strategy is shite. They allow their overseas players to start 6-8 weeks later than the rest of the squad, curtailing any chance of an effective pre season. They have leaked to many Goals over the past few seasons. They seem to play with no real strategy. Lowe has to go now. Squad needs to cleared and re built from the back back. God help us when we play Chelsea in pre season!

I knew they were good for a second! Perth are something of an enigma. They produce great players out West and have solid, parochial support, but don't seem to translate this into consistent on-field performances. The constant long-distance travel is certainly a factor, a similar issue that the 'Nix face, which makes one wonder if a local rival would provide the impetus required.

Full Time 90' - It is over in the west and the Brisbane Roar have beaten the Perth Glory away from home to keep their slim chances of a finals appearance alive. It is hard to believe that Brisbane may just have sealed a finals position after the slow start to the season they produced and it has been a stellar comeback from John Aloisi's men. Tonight saw the Glory take the early lead and all the energy in nib Stadium seemed to suggest that is was going to be the home teams' night. Adam Taggart put them in front after a poor error from goal-keeper Jamie Young, yet he was to redeem himself later on. Brisbane were unexpectedly in front before half-time with goals to substitute Henrique who had come on for the injured Brett Holman and Thomas Kristensen who latched onto a loose ball after a series of clumsy errors in the box from Perth. The second half saw Henrique extend the lead early and Brisbane appear the winner until the fireworks began. With Perth pressing, Jamie Young saved well from Castro before fouling Keogh in the box and giving the Glory a penalty. In dramatic fashion, Young made amends for his earlier effort and saved Castro's spot kick. There was a final twist in the tale as Jacob Pepper conceded an own goal at the near post with around four minutes of regular time remaining, however the Roar would hold on and keep their final aspirations alive. It will now all come down to the Wanderers tomorrow afternoon, who need nothing less than a win against Adelaide and the boys from Brisbane will be cheering on the city of churches tomorrow. Join me on the Roar for that game tomorrow at 5.00pm AEDT. Final Score Perth Glory 2 Brisbane Roar 3

79' - Not sure how to explain the next three minutes of football as Young saved a great Castro strike before a penalty is awarded to Perth for a weak push on Keogh from the subsequent corner. To top it all all off, Young saves the penalty. Wow.
