Wallabies trial start time: When does Australia play the Super Rugby selection team at Leichhardt Oval?

By The Roar / Editor

The best of Australia’s rugby crop will be on display at Leichhardt Oval on Friday, August 3 as the Wallabies take on a Super Rugby selection team in a warm-up for the Rugby Championship. Kick-off is scheduled for 6:45pm (AEST).

The reasoning behind this match stems from the five-week gap between the end of Super Rugby’s regular season and the beginning of the Rugby Championship.

The Wallabies will need to be switched on from the get-go, with the Bledisloe Cup also on the line across their first two games as they take on the All Blacks both home and away to kick-start their campaign.

While the Australian team will be without their big-name Waratahs for the match, as they are returning from a semi-final against the Lions in Johannesburg, the rest of the Wallabies team will be using this as a tune-up for the Tests.

The Super Rugby squad have been picked out of the Brumbies, Reds, Rebels and the Western Force, who have been participating in the World Series Rugby competition.

Tom English: We are going to play like All blacks (All black shape). Does this mean beat the wallabies too?

Thanks Paul. That sounds right. So I might just get up early here in New York. I'm particularly interested in the clash between Hodge and English. And if it happens to be geo blocked I'll blame you.

I don't know for certain, but geo-blocking is usually done due to exported rights deals for other broadcasters. I wouldn't expect it to be the case here.
