Ricky Stuart is set to become Canberra’s longest-serving NRL coach after he signed a three-year extension until the end of the 2023 campaign.
Stuart arrived at the Raiders in 2014 and has taken the Green Machine to two top-four finishes in six seasons, but they also missed finals four times.
The extension means Stuart will coach Canberra for a decade which will eclipse the tenure of Tim Sheens, who guided the club to three premierships between 1989 and 1994.
MORE TO COME.

Home club, home town, home is where the heart is & from all accounts his family love Canberra & he is personally making a big difference in people's lives off the field & outside the club & vice versa. Great news & there's a real good feeling around the Green Machine in town & on the back of the new players & guys like Sia (who is just an absolute legend) regardless of Premierships it seems like a good place to be. Lost Blake but maybe gained a new Jack after the stupidity which by rights would have seen most people in jail, Paps back to Origin form & some self-belief to go with the flash. There's a lot to live up to as far as the ghosts of Xmas past are concerned but at least one of the ghosts is in charge right....?!?

I think that’s a good move by the Raiders. From what I can see, the team is performing well with no “big name” players and the fans are really supportive. Sticky will be a prime target for clubs that are in a similar position to Canberra 2 or 3 years ago (Warriors, Dragons, Titans)

The timing of the extension is a bit odd. Are they scared the Dragons might want to punt Mary and try to poach Ricky?

I was iffy on him at the end of last year but he's turned things around brilliantly. To improve the Raiders defense by 7-8 points a game is something special from sticky. Hope he can delivery Canberra a premiership.
