It just gets more sad for the Broncos

Once again there is no light at the end of the tunnel for the Broncos after suffering their fifth loss in a row against the Titans, 30-12.

The Broncos have moved down to 15th on the ladder and the Titans have jumped up to 13th place after their second win of the season.

Broncos should bow their heads in shame for only scoring 12 points against the bottom team for the last couple of seasons. Ben Te’o scored the first try for the Broncos and Herbie Farnworth scored nine minutes later.

A double to Anthony Don in the first half and a try along with a try assist for Ash Taylor helped make the halftime score 22-0 but they only managed to score eight points in the second half with the only try for the Titans in the second half going to Phillip Sami.

Tyrone Peachey came off the bench and looked very good with a try assist to Sam Lisone along with 137 running metres and no errors.

Payne Haas – as he does week in and week out – ran for 157 metres, made six tackle breaks and made 33 tackles for only two misses.

Issac Luke looked very good in defence with 33 tackles for no misses.

Matt Lodge came off in the second half with what looked like a very serious leg injury but I hope for his and the Broncos’ sake that he is okay and no serious damage has been done.

David Fifita is expected to return in Round 9 against the current last-placed team in the form of the Bulldogs. Fifita has been tabled a monstrous contract offer, and at this point Fifita may break his promise to Haas and move away from Brisbane.

Brisbane finished the game with 48 per cent of possession, a 72 per cent completion rate, 40 missed tackles and 14 errors with captain Alex Glenn making the most tackles in the game with 41.

Both sides suffered sin bins with Broncos winger Corey Oates being sin-binned in the final five minutes and earlier in the game, at the 37th minute, Moeaki Fotuaika was sin-binned.

The Titans take on the Sharks next Saturday and the Broncos take on the Warriors also on Saturday in a must win to let the pressure off the players and the coach Anthony Seibold.

I really believe that the Broncos have a few white ants in the system. Bennett loyalist that have probably enjoyed the current stat of affairs. Bennett signed Boyd to a massive overpayment and I have never seen a player be so professionally pathetic when he isn’t happy about playing. Milf is a sook and for a player to be signed $1 million a season with little heart is probably a poor business decision. Compare the competitive nature of JT, Smith, Slater or Cronk compared to Milf. Then James Roberts crack his usual sad crap which leads to alcohol and off field garbage all but Bennett is willing to tolerate? Gillett being taken out with Injuries was a terrible loss because he wasn’t a senior Bennett loyalist and a terrific leader IMO. One of the first things Bennett did was give a loyalist Hodges the Captaincy and remove Parker and put a previous Griffin (captain Thaiday)a quick ride to the bench after an early defeat? Poor Seibold handed an Olive branch to Boyd with the Captaincy now when things are tough his leaders have left him holding the can. Seibold’s only way out is to have senior players get on the bus. Probably why he asked the playing group directly? Not sure they have the desire to do what they are paid to do. It’s pretty rough that some senior players are taking the overpriced contract they signed with the previous coach and bludging with the current coach unable to move them on.

Please Bronco's: Get a coach. (Seib's isn't - how much prof do you need .. even the bunnies declined from top 4 after he took over Bronco's started fading since the day he took over in 2019 - in the start they lasted a while (won a few) playing messy, ad-hoc, to personal skills or in other words NOT following his plan this year he's forced them to always play his crap (my way or the highway) and here's the result.

Boyd already has one but I don't see him getting another.

No player who is currently with the Broncos will ever win a premiership with the Broncos.

I'm thinking of the club officials and fans. Surely, they deserve the opportunity to have their support really tested. Otherwise they're not getting the full football club supporters' experience.

I very much doubt it will be character building, because by your time line (a few years), surely none of the current playing roster as well as the coach & upper management will be at the Broncos! They've got the same coach, and very much the same players from 2019 playing just as poorly in 2020. If there aren't massive changes pronto, the Broncos will be doomed to "character building" mediocrity for much longer than a "few years."

Character building. I'm sure a few years of this would do them good.
