If the Wallabies’ thumping loss to Wales at the Rugby World Cup was rock bottom, their face-saving win over Portugal to (in all likelihood) end their tournament was a small step, but a step nonetheless, in the right direction.
And that was reflected in your official DIY player ratings: where last week all 23 Wallabies received a fail grade, this time only one of the starting 15 was thusly marked.
That it was Ben Donaldson for the second game in a row exacerbates a major Wallabies problem: between him and Carter Gordon, the playmaker spot has contributed the lowest Wallaby score in their last three games at the World Cup.
At the other end of the scale, Rob Valetini’s average of 7.13 was a clear standout, giving him comfortably the highest individual rating of any Wallaby since their win over Georgia to kick off the tournament; close behind but on the wrong side of 7 was Angus Bell, the prop putting in a classically tough performance to lead the way through two yellow cards.

IFL kicking the ball away? You must have imagined it, as I have it on very good authority that Nic White is the only scrumhalf who kicks the ball.

I was thinking another Lolesio imposter. Spouse of Terrance. Donaldson Attack 3 Defence 2 Kicking 6 Pass 1 Average 3

Wouldn't that just eliminate the numbers 1 and 10 - meaning they would be completely unattainable - and then we could just score from 2 to 9?

I must have been watching a different game. I thought Donaldson played well.

The highest 10% scores and the lowest 10% scores be removed to ensure only the most even judgements are considered and reduce the possibility that contributors are favoring their favourite Team's unfairly?

I must be new around here dear. You have to play rugby to comment on the Roar Rugby  . gee wizz. umm is this a trick question? What level should i have played at under 6`s ? or high school, metro N,S,E,W, club, state, country ?

Come on Mr Gordon. 2?

It’s all mindless mash for the masses…. Koroibete not staying on his man to let Portugal’s first try in was appalling from a once great winger… and gets a 6? Please.

What is considered an extreme score, though? Ben Donaldson this week for example had a most common rating of 4, which would make any rating higher than 6 as extreme as a rating of 1 and to be disregarded. For me, providing both the average and the mode (most common rating) as they currently do helps to better convey the range/difference of opinions than a single figure.

The best back was Perese …Forwards Valentini…. No one else was playing to their best….IFL kicking the ball away twice in the closing minutes was the worst by far. What was he thinking? Ball in hand and spread it wide…. like Portugal!

I`d suggest we should be beating them by 60+

WW. Just wondering. Did you ever play rugby?

The only person who is surprised to see the playmakers receive the lowest scores in this RWC campaign is Jones. And this alone is good reason to get rid of him. Everything that we thought would happen with his selections has occurred pretty much, except that they played worse than we could have imagined due to no game plan or a poor one and lack of coaching nous all around.

In future, can the average scores be assessed disregarding extreme scores. I'm hoping this will lead to greater accuracy. I think the 'most common rating' is the most accurate.

Well that`s just your opinion man. We may as well not play rugby if we only have 1 player who is test standard. I beg to differ.

Yeah as he never did anything good. He was punished in ratings for his stupidity. . You can`t give him a good rating if he is horrible in a Wallaby jersey.

I’m my opinion yes. Can run the ball in the wide channels. But his other work is questionable at best.

He may never put in. But he is also one that was punished in the DIY rankings no matter what he did.

Swinton never puts in. He either puts in a swinging arm and receives red or a yellow card. He is dumb and also lazy around the park. White is not the player he was 2 years ago. The rest are good players Eddie missed.

10. Ben Donaldson Average score: 4.31 That is way too high. Should be a 2 at best.
