It’s a clash between two heavy hitters as the Brisbane Lions take on the Collingwood Magpies in a top-eight blockbuster at The Gabba. Join The Roar for live scores from 7:50pm (AEST).
It’s been a nervy fortnight for the Lions as they turn into the home stretch, with back-to-back single-digit wins against North Melbourne and St Kilda. They’ve not lost consecutive games all year and have six wins from their last seven, but they’d want to put in a big show against a top opponent tonight.
Collingwood gave their finals chances an enormous boost after wiping Carlton away in the second half to move into sixth. They have a six-point gap over the chasing pack and would back themselves to reach the finals from here, although a loss could make things very interesting for the final fortnight.
Brisbane have a woeful recent record against the Magpies and will be gunning for their first win in this head-to-head since a 67-point triumph back in 2014. They’ve lost six in a row to Collingwood and nine of the previous ten – with their last win at The Gabba coming way back in 2010.

Don't know Pete. He's a shadow of himself based on past couple of years. Wouldn't surprise me if after our last game the club announces some injury he's been carrying that can't be made worse through playing

Lions did well to hold off the pies. Playing 2 down on the interchange forhalf the game really started to show in the last 1/4. A tough win that will give the lions some self belief!

Certainly won games in the wet, I remember, couldn't say how many in a row. Not sure if there would be any likelihood of an early tropical storm, but, it would be a most bizarre sight.

No one likes little dogs. May as well own cats. It’s only big dogs that count. And I’m glad you like big dogs

I appreciate that you care enough about me to let me know you have a friend. I just feel it lacked creativity. Kinda like most of your posts. Thanks for the gesture though

Cats and Lions too up until Andrews last night? Lions in fact have had a charmed run three years now.

Dare I say it, as I'm risking a backlash from a certain individual but the Cats have had a charmed run with injuries. They've probably had the best run out of all the contenders. I''m sure they'll be hoping that luck continues.
