Nat Fyfe makes his long-awaited return for Fremantle as they face their biggest nemesis thus far in an excellent 2022: not Hawthorn, but wet-weather football. Join The Roar for live scores and rolling coverage from 4:10pm (AEST).
Fyfe’s absence after a run of shoulder and back injuries hasn’t stopped the Dockers from becoming the year’s biggest surprise packet. Consecutive wins over top two sides Melbourne and Brisbane has left them third on the ladder, with a 9-3 record that few would have predicted heading into the season.
With a disciplined defence, exciting forward prospects and a brutal midfield, the Dockers have only struggled this season in rainy conditions, having been soundly beaten by both Gold Coast and Collingwood in the wet in recent times. Given the forecast in Perth suggests there will be rain, it’s either a great opportunity for Freo to prove they’re over that issue, or a looming disaster.
The Hawks have been brave and brilliant at times this year, and their 4-8 record probably doesn’t do justice to the promising signs they’ve showed under Sam Mitchell.
However, team selection has dealt their chances a major blow, with forward pair Jack Gunston and Mitch Lewis to miss, alongside rebounding defender Jarman Impey.

If you want to keep going there, I'm happy to explain how they got the charity flag. I probably should go through the 2011 and 2012 GFs too. Those seasons are where the hashtag originated. Just be clear, you keep bringing this up. Don't complain when I'm happy to keep it alive. The next generation needs to know.

Typo? At least you admitted a mistake, maybe with some more perseverance and soul searching you can cure your ‘13 GF post-loss fragilities….first step, remove pins from Stevic voodoo doll I’m sure you’ll feel better in no time.
Clear as mud

Miles better It is still only one game, one night

Typo. The G is right next to the H. If you get offended by that, you need help. I'm sure your post-loss fragility can be medicated.

Birdman, you’re wasting your time back and forth with Don Freo……even other Freo roarers sick of him. Credit where credits due?….not in his book when it comes to the Gawks as he calls them. Just silly petty public stance that’s gone on for so long now he wouldn’t ever dare say anything favourable.

Comfortable 13 point win plus 4 or 5 goals that Matthew Nichols either created for Gawks or defended against Freo. If you call that close, you are a long way behind.

Cheers 13th. I'll take that

Or that based on yesterday's game, Freo is not that far ahead of a rebuilding Hawthorn under a rookie coach. Don't worry too much, we've been excellent value against most of the top 8 this year.

What does what say about Freo? That the side is so strong, best 22 players in any other side can't get a game at Freo?
Birdman
Roar Rookie
Maybe. But what does that say about Freo?
Don Freo
Roar Rookie
Because your best 22 is relatively weak.
Don Freo

Correct though. If you want to go all attack dog, I have your measure. Better off dealing with the anger of a loss in a different way.

Were you really? In body . . . maybe. But not in spirit.

Denver is first 22, those two kids aren't yet.

McEvoy - Too old, career ebbing. Gunston - old and ebbing...but I'll give you that one. Worpel- not injured, just not AFL standard this season. Denver- If we're mentioning kids, I'm also mentioning Amiss and Johnson.
Birdman

That's a pathetically reductive arrgument. 13th team takes the 3rd to the end. Wins are less important as substantive development and the opportunity to get a decent draft hand. Hawks are at the start of a fast rebuild, Freo in fairness are late to fulfilling its potential but is finally getting there. A mouthful of salt will choke you in the end, Don.

They can't respond until the cause of that adversity is addressed. They have up 16 players injured. Expect a response after the injuries heal.

I am responding to your attacks, put-downs and arguments. You go back and try to find one put-down that is not one initiated by another. You start it, I'll respond.
