Round 22 begins with St Kilda squaring off against Brisbane in a crucial Friday night showdown, with the Saints needing a win to keep their finals hopes alive. Join The Roar for live scores and rolling coverage from 7:50pm (AEST).
The Saints can move back into the eight – for at least the night – with an upset win here, and would leave themselves with their finals destiny likely in their own hands ahead of a clash with Sydney next week.
But without Dan Hannebery, they will find it tough to knock over a Lions outfit eyeing off the top four, who know that a loss here could see them squander their premiership chances for a fourth year running.
Opening bounce: 7:50pm (AEST)
Venue: Marvel Stadium, Melbourne
TV: Fox Footy, Channel 7
Live stream: Kayo Sports, Foxtel Now, Foxtel Go
Betting: Saints $2.45, Lions $1.57 (odds via PlayUp)

As the British once said when police cars included the Jag S-Type,'look at that s car go'. Bank robbers favoured them as well for quick getaways. Brisbane stole the game tonight, the Saints' six points from six straight set shots gave it to the Lions

Just don’t see what you gain from dropping him. If he brings effort, which could still be improved, then all you do is confirm things in his head. I don’t think the problem will be fixed in a week and I reckon he’d be mentally cooked after the delivery he’s received since the bye. Even if you did drop him, who do we bring in instead? Aside from a soft free kick, he earned his shots with some serious contested marks and competed against 2 or 3 frequently. Hopefully he puts on a bit more muscle this off season and comes back with a bit more mongrel in him. Hate to see this kind of form.

We dropped georgie because he lost his confidence at kicking for goals. Whether it was right or not is a different question I guess.lol.

Seriously at this point King should be dropped.. a absolute liability and momentum killer with that kicking for goal. Or would you keep picking him? genuine question

Really left one on the pitch tonight but silver linings in seeing them play with high intensity and the young players in windhager, Owens, wanganeen-millera and Sharman putting in really strong games. Brisbane we're too good early on but a bit fortunate that max king has left his boots at home 0 goals 5 behinds was probably the biggest single factor. Cam Rayner has a beautiful kick. Brisbane gotta get their discipline in check, bit sloppy and would get punished in September for giving away 50s.

Thats what Brisbane needed the 4 points but wasn't overly convincing in those last two quarters, Saints lost it for themselves really.
