Saturday footy begins with the St Kilda Saints taking on the Port Adelaide Power with both desperately needing a win. Follow the action from an empty Marvel Stadium with live scores on The Roar from 1:45pm (AEST).

Originally slated for Saturday night, the match has been brought forward six hours to allow the Saints to immediately leave Melbourne ahead of a trip to Perth to play West Coast next week. They plan to take off immediately following this match: how they’d love to take four premiership points with them.

Three consecutive wins has resurrected the Saints’ season after all looked lost at their bye. Last week’s upset of Brisbane was the pick of the bunch, and proved that the Saints’ best is good enough to trouble any side in the competition.

Now sitting ninth, Brett Ratten’s team is guaranteed a spot in the eight come round’s end if they can win. They’ve gone in unchanged from the team that stunned the Lions.

The Power’s reputation as flat-track bullies was enhanced with their home loss to Melbourne last week. Try though they might, Ken Hinkley’s men just can’t beat a serious contender this season. As a result, they sit fifth, and well off the pace when it comes to flag favouritism.

However, Brisbane’s loss to Richmond on Friday night has opened the door for a return to the top four. Win here, and their double-chance hopes will be back in their own hands.

That’s going to be easier said than done, though. Port are counting the cost from their Demons loss, with young stars Connor Rozee and Zak Butters, plus goalsneak Steven Motlop, all out through injury.

The Power thumped the Saints by 54 points when they last met back in Round 7. However, they’ll face a very different Saints outfit than they did eleven weeks ago. Can they still repeat the dose?

Really good win away from home with good players out. However the Saints aint no Demons/Bulldogs/Cats who we have to beat in the finals. Hopefully we are fit in the finals with other teams missing some players too, another prelim loss would suck.

Well the kidney is relatively accessible below the ribs from the back, and modern athletes are pretty lean with less fat padding, so a decent bump at the right angle could do it...

To be honest. I didn’t read your reply. I’m sure it was great and I thank you for the time you took to do it. I’ve got a cooking article to come up with. I hope you’ve had a tasty dessert

If you cant see it you must be looking with your eyes closed. Let’s review the three wins that pumped the Aints up. 1. Richmond - may have looked impressive at the time but not so much considering the two games that Richmond played following that loss. 2. Collingwood - do i really need to explain why barely beating a bottom 4 side isn’t impressive in the least? 3. Brisbane - if not for the hipwood injury would this have gone completely differently? Absolutely. It’s called catching a team at the exact right time. And considering Richmond who has been so putrid just beat them weigh out hipwood, Brisbane certainly look far less impressive suddenly.

As cool and accurate you feel like you are I can’t see where the Saints have been inflated.

Sounds like a bitter dish. Though I hear Tigers are soft and tender this time of year.

You need to shut your eyes and eat it. I find food better when someone else cooks it. Maybe because I’m lazy

A momentum change midway through the quarter? I wouldn't have thought any coach can really control that.

So as the comments are broken on the Gold Coast thing ima gonna comment here. So two legs of a multi i put in yesterday one was kamdyn Macintosh to have more than fifteen disposals and the other was Brandon ellis to have more than twenty five and they both went off injured in the first quarter haha
