The Giants came from behind to overrun the Crows in Round 1, but have since been counting the cost. Josh Kelly and Lachie Whitfield were both concussed during the win and will miss the trip west under AFL protocols, while Harry Perryman sustained a hamstring injury. They have, however, resisted the urge to replace them with number one draft pick Aaron Cadman, despite a six-goal haul in a VFL practice match.

The Eagles’ horror recent form continued with their loss to lowly North Melbourne last week; they have now won just two of their past 27 games. As a result, they are now outsiders to claim victory over an opponent that finished in the bottom six last year… on their own turf.

West Coast beat the men in orange and the fools in green. Insipid & baffling umpiring is a blight on the game. At one stage 2 umpires close to the contest gave 2 different decisions. nevertheless it was a good win to the mighty Eagles
