You can’t defend his actions Jonboy. I think he is a lucky boy. You can’t be backing yourself to kick 3 goals! Makes a joke of the code! Take your punishment and move on. Lucky , the more I think about it.

No one is arguing that what he has done is right, now he has been called stupid, naive, a idiot and had the grandstand thrown at him but this is the harshest punishment ever in this regard given to him. A lot of respected people have called it harsh, probably the majority but there seems a minority that want to keep beating the drum and thriving on berating the kid.No one has defended his actions, just the severity.

A mistake is doing it once. He did it three times. Intentionally using a friends account, not his own. That isn't a mistake.

He didn't make a mistake. He knowingly made bets (3 times) a couple through a friend therefore knowing it was wrong. Would it have been a mistake If he'd managed to change the outcomes of these games? That's why the players are constantly being told,warned and lectured that they are not allowed to bet on any afl games yet alone the ones they are playing in
