Remember the 'Bad News' Bears, who entered the League three decades ago? Remember how they were called 'Brisbane' but played in a paddock on the Gold Coast with none of the minimum facilities you'd expect a top-tier sports club to get? And a squad ('team' it wasn't) of rejects, about-to-be has-beens and no-hopers? And one of the League's greatest players as coach - almost, you could say, set up to fail because he had no experience as a senior coach. And how it took eight seasons to get them looking like a football club, largely due to Robert Walls? So, now to 2007-2009: what does the League do? Repeat an unfinished venue, an untried coach, and believe its own hype. Be interesting to see whether it's the same AFLHQ bloodline making many of the same errors all over again - the Bourbons (not the drink!) redux. (Maybe it was too much Kentucky bourbon!) Or, maybe, as one news story wondered, if there's something in the Coast's H20?

Does he stand by his call that Freo is better than the eagles?

Brown, Lyon and Roos should all stop giving opinions as they just keep splurting hogwash all the time.
