South Africa will look to take the series over Australia when the sides clash in the second ODI at the Adelaide Oval. Join The Roar for live scores and coverage from 2:20pm (AEDT).

It was a dismal day for the hosts in Perth on Sunday, suffering a six-wicket loss and failing to put to bed any of the controversy or criticism that has surrounded them for the best part of eight months.

South Africa won the toss and elected to bowl first, and it made it count on a lively deck.

The South African bowling was simply brilliant. Dale Steyn and Lungi Ngidi put the heat on the Australian’s and had them three wickets down for just eight runs.

From there the pressure never really released and the Australian bowling line up struggled to get a look in on a pitch South Africa made their own.

After South Africa’s fielding innings, many suspected Australia, with their equally world-class bowling line up, would take early wickets and put some pressure on the visitors, despite the small chase of 152 runs.

It was not the case though. Marcus Stoinis took three, but the batting from Quinton de Kock, Reeza Hendricks and Aiden Markram guided South Africa to a 1-0 series lead.

Shaun Marsh did not play on Sunday, requiring surgery on an abscess and Ben McDermott has been added to Australia’s squad for coverage, should the batter not recover in time for Adelaide.

The final teams will be announced at the toss. Will spinner Adam Zampa get a bowl on his home deck?

The troubles continue for Cricket Australia behind the scenes; another two heads went rolling on Wednesday and the poor crowd at Perth Stadium was a clear indication the Australian public have little faith in this organisation and their national team at present.

Prediction
A comprehensive display on Sunday was just the start.

The South Africans are full of confidence and will want to finish the series off, while Australia are second-guessing everything they do.

I’m hopeful Australia will put a better performance together, but it won’t be enough for a win.

South Africa to take the series with a victory in Adelaide.

Zampa's 20 runs proved so so crucial and yes, Stoinis has had a good series so far with the ball. Hopefully he can produce again in Hobart!

Australian captain Aaron Finch was named man of the match for his batting and his tactics in the field - do you agree with this, or who would you have picked?

Don't forget the Women's T20 World Cup begins over night tonight. Australia's first game is tomorrow morning, 7:00am AEDT start up against Pakistan. I'll be on The Roar on Monday morning from 7:00am AEDT, covering Australia's game against Ireland. This is expected to be a very close World Cup, Australia are the "team to beat" if you like, but it is going to be a very interesting tournament. Australia, New Zealand, India and Pakistan are in the same pool and only two can go through to the knockout stages.

If you call yourself all rounder then you have to contribute in one way or another. Example : Stoinis. His wicket of Miller was the game. Cummins is ridiculously good.and Hoff is bowling brilliantly. Starc is still little off but last over shows he can get there. Congratulation for winning at last.

That's a breakthrough for Australia. How instrumental that win is we will find out on Sunday and over the summer. For now, I'm sure they'll enjoy that winning feeling once again. Expect a fired up South Africa on Sunday afternoon in Hobart, for the final game of the series.

Brilliant game, close run chase, small totals but some quality bowling from both sides. Bit of luck involved in some situations, but that's cricket. The Australians well they all look very relieved. South Africa will be disappointed, they were in a great position and really should have batted it out.

A FOUR to start proceedings, but Maxwell cleans his bowling up with four singles... and Ngidi has broken his bat!! It flies away... All over, a FOUR to finish by Tahir, but Australia have claimed victory by 7 runs at the Adelaide Oval this evening. Overs 50 South Africa 9/224

Zampa to Ngidi, drags it to deep midwicket for a single. Tahir swings hard at the next one and sends it to long off for one. Ngidi goes big! SIX off the last ball of the over, brings the required run rate to twenty off the last six balls. One over left, 20 runs required. Overs 49 South Africa 9/212

Starc continues, Lynn doesn't quite collect in time to take a throw at the stumps for a run out chance. Another good bowling effort tonight and he finishes with a wicket maiden: Starc 2/52 off his ten overs. 15 an over required. Overs 48 South Africa 9/202
