It’s one thing to accidentally get one of the player’s names wrong on occasion – but one of your fellow commentators?
Channel 7 caller James Brayshaw going viral for this bizarre case of mistaken identity during the Third Test in Sydney, mistakenly referring to co-commentator and Indian legend for Sunil Gavaskar as “Sachin Tendulkar”.
To his credit, Gavaskar took the slip-up with good humour, saying he was “flattered” to be addressed as Test cricket’s highest run-scorer – and why wouldn’t he be.

Everyone. Watch the 7 game on mute and have ABC radio commentary going.

Warne bowling is a master but if he ‘just’ played cricket good chance he may have got captaincy if he didn’t stuff around off field. If Symonds had of just played not stuffed around he would have played more games.

I agree with Shane Warne's comments about Marnus.

Hi SC, ahhh Shane Warne is not the greatest commentator or human being BUT there is absolutely no doubt of his pre-eminent status as a cricketer.

I have stopped watching Channel 7's coverage of the cricket because they employed Brayshaw. It has been so much better simply listening to the coverage on the ABC - at least they try and a) cover the game and b) give some insights. It's a bit retro but as Greg Champion says in his song "Cricket's On The Radio" I know as soon as I wake up if it’s my lucky day if the cricket’s on the ABC then everything’s okay https://soundcloud.com/greg-champion/crickets-on-the-radio-greg

Surely no one is surprised? This is a man who knows NOTHING about the opposition year in year out. A shameful excuse of a commentator.

I can't believe he gets these gigs still. Ponting is good, but Kayo (Fox) is so much better I reckon

Yesterday, Fox Sports commentators, Shane Warne and Roy Symonds who caught mocking an Australian batsman, Marnus Labuschange. I found this sort of behaviour to be absolutely unacceptable and not funny. Shane Warne may have been a good cricket player back in the days, but him as a commentator, he makes fun of players. Foul language is unacceptable in commentary and Fox Sports need to be accounted for. Today, it was Channel 7, James Brayshaw who mistakenly called Sunil Gavaskar as Sachin Tendulkar. I am getting very tired of having to put up with James Brayshaw in the Seven Network commentary. It made it really hard for me to concentrate on watching the test match. I watched it and he makes a lot of mistakes in the commentary.

I loathe Brayshaw and I never get tired of saying so.
