It’s a taste of what to come throughout the English summer.

No doubt about it Ouch, after having 'engagement meetings to outline their workplace duty of care'. All with the 'desired outcome' of ensuring CA isn't held accountable for any negative response. Meanwhile the players will be nodding in the appropriate places while internally screaming "get me out of here'! The nett result will be that the players will debrief amongst themselves after the days play to mentally reset for the next day........just like they always have. Meanwhile CA's bureaucrats will be filling filing cabinets with how supportive and inclusive they've been. I always remember back when Monty Panesar was playing, that a mate said that the POMS had sent him to a pyschologist to cope with the expected Aussie crowd getting stuck into him because he was a piss poor fielder. My reaction was "Why don't they just teach him to field!" Life is simpler than bureaucrats make it, because sports people act, administrators over react.

Meh. It’s all light-hearted banter. Nothing to it.

I reckon CA would have engaged some sports psychologists to help Smith and Warner to deal with the abuse that is to come.

One way the Aussies differ from other nations; they can take sledging. Congratulations to CA for creating the atmosphere for opposition spectators to provide workplace bullying for the players. If the penalty had been commensurate with the ICC, these guys would have been back at work after a couple of games, like those players who actually physically tamperered with a ball, who'll be playing at the World Cup. Great stuff CA, at least you have the moral high ground, which seems to be the only important thing for sporting administrators in this country now.

Agreed Viv. After all we have a precedent in Trott, don't we . English fans are actually brilliant in my experience but they won't be the only ones attending and I'm guessing these guys will cop it. I don't think it will worry them though. Maybe Smith but they're built of sterner stuff and we're really only talking about a bit of atmosphere...

Let it go. Massive contradictions in society. We can hound players to the brink of a break down and only then when the terms “mental illness” or “depression” are used then we back down.

Can't wait to see the crowd reactions when those heroes take the field.
