It is the biggest issue facing world cricket in general and Oz cricket in particular. Lots of runs means poor cricket contests. Improved super bats, flat pitches, manicured outfield, shorter boundaries and regressive ball technologies have taken the art of bowling out of the contest. Bowling skill is no more relevant than a kids T-ball tee. Time for a curators summit.

It's Karen Rolton but I agree with your comment. 1250 runs at 3.6 per over with just 25 wickets. If we keep doing this to our Shield players, they will never learn to play a moving ball and we'll destroy our young quick bowlers.

Any chance Sharon Rolton Oval could actually produce some results this year? How do you get decks so flat in Sept??

Meanwhile, Nathan McAndrew is playing for South Australia and is having a strong game. Don't know anything about him? That's OK, neither do Cricket Australia: https://www.cricket.com.au/players/nathan-mcandrew/vnF72jmJrkGLp2dn6k_WUQ
