Bloody ridiculous distance. The course designers will have to rethink. Reward distance but also reward accuracy. The pro games is becoming a bombers game. Watch the ladies game sometime.....it is surprisingly good.
This 6th hole at Bay Hill is exactly that. a 342 yard carry at the longest point but there is a fairway landing area 130 yards wide if you can hit it that far. if you cant then your landing area is maybe 45 yards wide.
For the average social golfer long drives don't help much.
Unless of course, they make 100 metre wide fairways and a straight-line between tee block and hole on green.
