Ash Maloney was a big chance of a medal coming into the final event of the decathlon but the previous events started to catch up with him in the gruelling challenge.
On the final lap of the 1500m he started to waver and his teammate, Cedric Dubler was right there with him to get him through it all.
Dubler acted as a pacer – knowing that he didn’t have a chance of getting a medal but he was going to do everything to give his mate a chance.
