Round 4 of the NRL premiership continues with the Cronulla Sharks hosting the Canberra Raiders at PointsBet Stadium. Join The Roar for live scores from 6:15pm (AEDT).

Cronulla co-captain Dale Finucane and front row duo Toby Rudolf and Royce Hunt all miss out, joining Braden Hamlin-Uele on the injured list, with Briton Nikora also suspended.

That means Siosifa Talakai will move to the backrow and Kayal Iro into the centres for a starting spot. Tuku Hau Taupuha and Dan Atkinson both gets spots on the bench as part of a major reshuffle.

The Raiders have again overlooked State of Origin representative Corey Horsburgh, who is expected to play NSW Cup for a second straight week.

Morgan Smithies is in red-hot form and will potentially holding his spot. James Schiller gets a start on the wing in place of Nick Cotric.

Albert Hopoate is out after he suffered burns to his arm during a BBQ mishap on Monday night but is expected to only miss a week.

Prediction

While the Raiders will give a good account of themselves against a Cronulla team missing a few stars in the pack, the Sharks will still be too strong. Sharks by 6.

No worries Rene - saw the last 20 minutes but still steeling myself to see a replay of the first 60. Might need to clear the room before I do. Cronulla deserved the win. Ricky was full of praise for Cronulla given how many of your forwards were out. Crazy season so far. Just had the worst tipping result I can recall for years 2/8!

Sorry Geoff, yep it is a bit condescending… I thought it was an average game mate

Yeah - not time to slash the wrists - first 3 weeks was pretty good - need to regroup.

He's always got an excuse - that has to filter down to the players. If there is an excuse then there is no accountability, no responsibility. Glad he doesn't coach my mob

Before the game some Raiders supporters were talking about potential top 4. Still think they have a good squad but the fadeout today is concerning.

There is something not quite right with the Raiders Geoff. I can't quite put my finger on it . I break down the team individually and it's very good but as a team ??? I am starting to think it's the coach.

Can Ricky just sit there while I get to go feral at him? What a disaster Dragoons, Manly, Titans, Raiders, the list of fades is big and it's only R4

Back to the drawing board for Ricky and the Raiders. Disappointing to say the least.

You weren't alone - I'd say the tips were about 60/40 in favour of the Raiders. They were in pretty good form going into this game. Missed the first 60 minutes at a BBQ - sounds like they started well but fell in a hole after that. Sounds familiar Reality check for Ricky and the team.

Made this much harder than it needed to be but with half the forward pack out - will always be happy to take the 2 points, even if ugly at this time of year. Again showed they are never out of a game, but probably lucky it was the raiders today.

Hynes kicks a little bit like JT. Not quite as severe a curve but still ' interesting'.

Is there some memo from above about reducing blow-outs?. More teams coming back from being down and out than seems ever.
