The Melbourne Storm and New Zealand Warriors meet in this Friday evening encounter with both sides looking to rectify last-start losses. Join The Roar from 6pm (AEST) for live scores of the match.

Despite performing far more admirably than many expected given their squad and travel burden, the Warriors made the shock decision to axe coach Stephen Kearney last weekend. It’s a decision which caught many off-guard, and club management will come under heavy scrutiny should results not improve in the coming weeks under interim Todd Payten.

Even so, getting the better of Melbourne will likely be beyond them. While Craig Bellamy’s men look a shadow of the side which has contended for NRL title after NRL title over the past decade and a half, they still have an impressive squad and will be smarting after last week’s loss to the Panthers.

Things don’t get any easier for the Warriors, with the Storm bringing back Jahrome Hughes and Josh Addo-Carr to the starting side for Ryley Jacks and Marion Seve. Add in the New Zealand club’s record at tonight’s venue – they haven’t won at Kogarah for some 17 years – and there’s not a lot in their favour for this encounter.

There is a bit of good news for the Warriors at least with Ken Maumalo back on the wing, and Chanel Harris-Tavita and Isaiah Papali’i named to start on the pine.

He went great! Couple of try assists and was good all around. Cam Smith played five eighth in the second and didn't miss a beat. In fact that might be the setup for next 6 weeks...B.Smith at hooker and C.Smith in at 6.

When an opponent puts on 50 against you, you know you have a problem with set plays and consistency. Dear oh dear.

OK - population of Auckland is 1.6 million and if the Warriors were proactive they should be having first crack

The warriors are essentially an Auckland club. The best Kiwi players play for other NRL teams. Look at Melbourne they have more Kiwi reps than the warriors

Just seems crazy that they have so many players to choose from that would have that rugby ability in their blood but they play like this - and what's more with no heart - I'd hate to be a Warriors supporter - shameful

I genuinely think they’d all rather be having a shot at being an All Black.
