Mate, what's the story about the "Dead Poet's Society" on the Robert Jennings story on Zero Tackle? Great effort pedro. It was so funny to see "mighty", "screaming" and even "Captain Senility" (aka "Woody") follow suit. You raised the bar there and revealed a hidden talent that even got @eels47 to stand on the table and cry; ”O Captain, my Captain”. Standing ovation for that effort boys. Even "the Angry Eagle" had a laugh at that one.

I flew in to dear old Dubbo - it got hot, fast. Went to Melbourne, it got hot a week later, went back to Dubbo and nearly died from a dust storm. Stayed in Sydney for another week - went back to work. See you in September Rabbits v Dragons.

im ok to change the anthem so it can be sung in any environment but maybe it should reflect all cultures...

Agreed pedro. Greg Inglis has no problem singing the national anthem and neither did Sam Thaiday or many other proud indigenous Australians who have represented their country. The only thing I might agree with Cody on is whether it was necessary to sing the national anthem at an event celebrating Australian indigenous and NZ Maori culture. I remember a time when the national anthem was only sung at test matches and before Grand Finals, now it's for every game. Are we trying to become Americans that we are so desperate to wave the flag at every game?

Let's be clear. For those that don't like the right message, it's always "not the right place".

Average tune but in reality more relevant than ever given most Australians arrived in the last 40 years..white Europeans are currently being written out of history. We should celebrate all ethnic groups including the English, the Irish, the Scots Etc who did so much to build 'modern' Australia. Of course the bigger we get the bigger minority Aboriginals will be ..so they are losing out too

You're argument falls flat when taking into consideration that the vote for our anthem was 99 years after the original lyrics were released...

2 of the 4 choices were 'Waltzing Matilda' and the incumbent anthem 'God save the Queen'. They're some pretty strong contenders. Yet, 'Advance Australia Fair' was 25% of the vote ahead of the 2nd favoured potential anthem. Case in point I say.

43% voted for it 42 years ago – it would be interesting to know how much support it had today. Perhaps people chose it because they considered it to be the least worst of some pretty ordinary options

That plebiscite was 42 years ago Mark - I think its time whether we questioned lyrics that were written in 1878 - 141 years ago!! - are still relevant to the Australia we are today

Not sure Walker hijacked the occasion – he was simply asked why he didn’t sing the national anthem and he responded that he didn’t think the anthem reflected himself or his family – I think I can understand where he is coming from. I think a lot of people would agree that the lyrics to the national anthem are way past their use by date

"an anthem that has the majority support of the Australian public"... That would the one we currently have...

BA, trouble with Mal is his political career lasted as long as his interview. Should stick to coaching or if he is serious have another crack.
